Be Active Bloomington Message from Mayor Mark Kruzan

Greetings!

The City of Bloomington places a high priority on your health and wellbeing. This is reflected in our commitment to [image:7041,right]providing you with comprehensive and affordable health insurance benefits and a wide range of wellness offerings. I am pleased to announce a new initiative designed to enhance these opportunities: the Be Active Bloomington campaign.

This campaign is the next step in creating one-stop-shopping for information on employee health. I thank all of you who participated in the wellness survey this past March, which was the first step in identifying and formulating the campaign. The results of this survey were used by the Wellness Team to develop a campaign designed educate and encourage participation in living healthy lifestyle choices.

The Be Active Bloomington campaign will feature e-newsletters highlighting specific aspects of health and wellbeing, testimonials from City employees, plus health tips and news about events, fitness classes, health screenings and more.

There are many aspects to an active, healthy lifestyle. Physical activity, mental wellbeing and healthy eating are just some of the components. I encourage all employees to get involved in the activities the Wellness Team will host in the following months, and make sure to give us feedback so we can continue to provide you with the information and opportunities you need to be healthy and happy.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact the Office of the Mayor.

Thank you again . . . and don't forget to Be Active!
