Bloomington, IN - The City of Bloomington has announced a second round of public workshops addressing the 10th Street Mobility Study. Two workshops will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10.

The first will take place 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Monroe County Public Library, 303 E. Kirkwood Ave, and the second from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. in Room CG 2061 at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business Graduate and Executive Education Center on the corner of 10th Street and Fee Lane.

Both workshops are free and open to the public and are intended to give residents a chance to ask questions and offer feedback on the study of the E. 10th Street corridor.

"Analysis was performed on the north side of campus to see how bicycle, pedestrian, transit and vehicular circulation could be improved," said Josh Desmond, Assistant Planning Director for the City. "We want the public to provide feedback before the study moves forward. The transportation concerns along this corridor are important to the community, and we want to make sure we get it right."

The City, IU and the Bloomington/Monroe County Metropolitan Planning Organization have partnered on this important study. Gorove/Slade Associates, Inc. was hired earlier this year to assist with the study and provide consulting services. The East 10th Street corridor through campus has long been identified as a transportation challenge, and studies conducted as long ago as 1964 have recommended improvements to the area's mobility for pedestrian as well as vehicular travel.

All residents are encouraged to attend. Additional information about the study is available online at [http://bloomington.in.gov/10th_Street_Mobility_Study|http://bloomington.in.gov/10th_Street_Mobility_Study].
