City Announces Applications for Citizens’ Academy 2009

Bloomington, IN -- The City of Bloomington Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND) Department announced today that applications are available for its 2009 Citizens' Academy, which will meet weekly from August 27 through October 29.

The Citizens' Academy provides participants with an interactive learning experience about and first-hand insight into municipal government services, programs and responsibilities.

The course will be limited to 30 participants to ensure a quality experience for all attendees, and applicants are chosen on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline for 2009 Citizens' Academy applications is Mon., July 27, 2009.

City residents who are interested in civic participation or increasing their knowledge about local government operations can apply online at the City of Bloomington's web site, [www.bloomington.in.gov/citizensacademy].
