Bloomington, IN - Mayor Mark Kruzan issued the following statement today on the passing of Myles Brand, President of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, who served as president of Indiana University from 1994-2002:

"Myles Brand was an incredibly serious-minded person who dedicated his efforts toward not only the betterment but the integrity of higher education in general and college athletics in particular. I was impressed from having worked with him as he carried that important message to legislators during his presidency."
