A peaceful, forest bathing experience led by a certified professional allows you to immerse yourself in nature to promote mental, emotional, and physical well-being. As you are guided through the forest, allow the sights, sounds, and smells around you to bring a sense of wholeness. Let natures healing power refresh and recharge you in this special, guided journey.The program meets three times for two hours and 15 minutes each, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Each session will be hosted in a different location. Forest bathing is a mindfulness practice that incorporates meditation and movement, in nature, to improve mental and physical health. Session 1: Lower Cascades Park - approx. 475 ft. from parking lot to Waterfall Shelter, on a paved path. Seating on park benches or on the ground available. Participants will walk approx. 930 ft. from Waterfall Shelter to Lower Cascades Waterfall. This is a nature surface path, expect uneven surfaces. Session will be held outdoors, dress appropriately for walking through the woods. A water fountain is available in the Waterfall Shelter, bring water bottle. Session 2: Rose Hill Cemetery - Approx. 700 ft. from street parking, inside the cemetery where the group will meet. Participants should expect to sit on the ground, with a yoga mat, or similar item, as a barrier to the grass. Paths inside Rose Hill Cemetery are asphalt paved. Rose Hill Cemetery is hilly. Session will be held outdoors, dress appropriately for the weather. Participants should bring their own water bottle.Session 3: Griffy Lake Nature Preserve - Participants will meet at Griffy Lake Nature Preserve parking lot near the dam cross off Dunn Street (3501 N Dunn St.). Participants will need to walk up 150 ft of stairs to access the South Shore Trail. Participants will walk 1,000-1,400 ft. along the South Shore Trail throughout the session. Participants will sit on benches or rocks along the trail. The South Shore Trail is a natural surface trail, with uneven surfaces. Session will be held outdoors, dress appropriately for the weather. Participants should bring their own water bottle.
