A peaceful, forest bathing (a mindfulness practice that incorporates meditation and movement in nature to improve mental and physical health) experience led by a certified professional lets you to immerse yourself in nature for your own well-being. The program meets three times, in three different locations, for 2.25 hours each. All sessions are outdoors, dress appropriately for the weather. Participants should bring their own water bottle. Session 1: Lower Cascades Park-approx. 475 ft. from parking lot to Waterfall Shelter on an asphalt path. Available seating is on park benches or on the ground. Participants walk approx. 930 ft. from Waterfall Shelter to Lower Cascades Waterfall on an uneven, natural-surface path. Session 2: Rose Hill Cemetery-Approx. 700 ft. on asphalt paving from street parking to the meeting place inside the cemetery. Expect to sit on the ground with a yoga mat or similar item as a barrier to the grass. Paths inside Rose Hill Cemetery are asphalt. Rose Hill Cemetery is hilly. Session 3: Griffy Lake Nature Preserve-Meet at the dam parking lot off Dunn Street. Participants must climb 150 of stairs to the natural surface South Shore Trail. Participants will walk 1,000-1,400 ft. along the South Shore Trail throughout the session and will sit on benches or rocks along the trail. The South Shore Trail has uneven surfaces.
