Community and Family Resources (CFRD)
The City of Bloomington Community and Family Resources Department (CFRD) serves as a resource to individuals, families and organizations in the Bloomington community, coordinating services, programs and activities that promote an enhanced quality of life and help to build a strong, vital community.
As part of CFRD, the Safe and Civil City program and the Volunteer Network further enhance the Bloomington community through civic engagement and volunteerism. We also work with the Council for Community Accessibility (CCA) to advocate on behalf of people with disabilities and to promote local awareness of the challenges faced by people with disabilities. In addition, CFRD supports community interests, coordinates volunteerism and identifies resources to meet those needs by:
- leading City initiatives.
- supporting community initiatives.
- building agency capacity through training and consultations.
- administrating grants
