Opportunities for Nonprofits
Computer Surplus Application
Local nonprofits are encouraged to apply to receive donated computer equipment. The City of Bloomington replaces one-fifth to one-fourth of computer equipment each year to keep up with new technology. This equipment is donated to 501C3 Non-For-Profit organizations.
2025 Bloomington Digital Opportunity Grant
To address the challenges of the digital divide identified by ITS' 2020 digital survey, the City has established a digital grants fund to support local nonprofits in their efforts to bridge the digital divide. ITS anticipates inventive proposals that build capacity in the community to address digital opportunity challenges.

PCs for People provides refurbished computers to eligible customers for affordable prices. They also provide low-cost high-speed internet solutions.

Digital Learn offers free, quick, technology lessons for computer use.
Low Cost Phone/Internet Service
Lifeline lowers the monthly cost of phone or internet service.

Local Cost High Speed Internet
The City of Bloomington, mStreet Fiber (formally known as Hoosier Fiber Networks), and GigabitNow have partnered to provide low-cost high-speed fiber internet service to income-eligible households.
