Hi Guys, I'm Chickpea. I came to the shelter after being trapped and brought in since I was spraying the outside of someone's house(hey...it was a nice garden). Anyway, I was super scared for a few days, until a couple of staff realized that my hissing was just a front, and gave me a bit of attention. As I became more and more comfortable, I showed what an absolutle love muffin I can be. Now that I'm neutered, we should n't have to worry about the spraying, and just get down to cuddles. I will likely take a little bit of extra time to adjust to any new change, simply due to my start in life. I am a staff favorite though, and if you're lucky enough, you can find out why. I did go to a foster home and here's what they had to say: Here are some new photos and personality update of our foster cat Chickpea! He was a little skittish when he first came into our apartment but warmed up to us very quickly. He is generally a sweet cat and very cuddly! He has a bad habit of running in front your feet when you walk and attacking your feet if you don’t stop to pet him. Despite my best efforts not to, I've tripped over him more than once. He likes to be in people’s laps and seems very comfortable there so much so that he does seem a bit nervous when he’s not in your lap, but he’s still new to our apartment so maybe that’ll die down. We’re working on getting him to use the scratching post but he does scratch the couch. He’s shown interest in toys and will play but only somewhat rarely.
