Bear

Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian. Bear is 5 years old. He has been neutered and is up to date on all his shots. He is an absolute sweetheart that wouldn't hurt a fly. He loves hugs and kisses and meeting new friends. But be careful, as he might try to give you a hug and end up knocking you over - he is roughly 80 pounds. Bear is housebroken and sleeps inside, but will get antsy if he doesn't get enough outside time and exercise, which is natural for his breed. He is an anxious dog and is currently prescribed Fluoxitine to help him feel more comfortable. With the loss of his owner, his anxiety has increased. He is a barker, making him a great guard dog. But in his eyes, a squirrel and an intruder may warrant the same level of barking. When meeting other dogs, he barks as well, but is never aggressive. He just needs to get a few sniffs in before making them his new best friend. We are willing to also pass along a fresh bag of food and a new bottle of his prescription. Bear has been a fantastic dog to my father, and I have no doubt he would be a loving and protective companion to his next owner.
