Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian. Gizmo is a sweet and rambunctious young dude with boundless energy. He loves people and wants desperately to have a young energetic friend to play with. He has been trying for months to convince my older resident female cat to be his playmate, but he comes on too strong and she vehemently despises him. I love him with all my heart, but my first cat is miserable with him around, and despite many efforts to reintroduce and encourage good interactions, the pair is far from content. In Gizmo, this has manifested in some Feline Idiopathic Cystitis flare-ups, which I have done my best to treat, including going so far as to get him a Perineal Urethrostomy surgery to help him stay happy and healthy (i.e. blockage-free) going forward. The dynamic in my household is just not good for either of them—my older girl is unhappy when he’s around, and her hissing and avoiding him stresses him out, which then aggravates his FIC. He would do really well in a home with room to run and either a young friend to run around with or kids to play with. He’s a beautiful cat, a charmer, and a sweet guy, and I feel incredibly sad that my home has not been the perfect match for him. If someone is interested in giving him the home that I couldn’t, I have a lot of toys, beds, and prescription food to send home with him.
