Victoria

Victoria is a shy older puppy who is just the sweetest thing, but will need time and patience for her to come out of her shell. She loves kids, tries to play with cats and does well with other dogs. If you're willing to work just a little to have the canine love of your life, look no further than our gal Victoria. Her previous foster mom had the following to say about her: I have had Victoria for about a month and she hsd come out of her shell! She is a sweet, playful young lady who is eager to please and loves to cuddle with her foster mom while she watches TV. She is an active dog who can at times play rough with you, but with some calmness and even keel, she will stop jumping and play nibbling. We have a big fenced yard and she loves to run (quite fast) around the yard, and sometimes will fetch a tennis ball. She is initially fearful of new people - adults, but with time is comfortable with them. Unfortunately we did not have many visitors so we were unable to work on this. She did behave very well with my two grandsons, ages 3 & 7 (even in her running sprees in the yard, she was cautious not to jump on them while they were playing,) but I would recommend a home with children who are familiar with animals and dogs. She is curious about our cats and will at times chase them, but not aggressively, but for play. She will need more training in this area. She is house trained, and has only had a couple of accidents in our house. She would benefit from training to reduce the jumping behavior (but has learned the sit command). She walks on al leash, but needs more training so that she does not pull, and she does fine during car rides. I would also recommend having her meet new people so that she gets used to different humans. All in all, she would be great companion for an active family. She would also benefit from a play buddy. She is super sweet and in the short time we have had her, she has come a long way. If you are looking for a young, energetic, cuddle loving dog, Victoria is the gal!
