Meet Arlo! Arlo is a truly special guy with a heart as big as his smile. He loves kids, cats, dogs, and honestly, every person he meets. When he first came to us, Arlo was severely underweight and unsure of himself, but with the help of his wonderful foster family, he’s been gaining weight, relaxing, and learning that life can be good. His foster described him as a “velcro dog”. Arlo wants to be right by your side, always. He’s obsessed with peanut butter, adores car rides, and is happiest cuddled up close to his people. Because of all he’s been through, Arlo struggles with separation anxiety. Being left alone is very stressful for him, and he’s still learning that his people will always come back. He’ll need a patient, understanding adopter who can provide gentle structure, time, and continued support to help him feel secure when on his own. A home where someone is around most of the day — or one with another confident dog to keep him company, would be ideal. Arlo has so much love to give, and with the right family who can help him continue to build confidence and trust, he’ll be the most loyal companion you could ask for.
