Sewer Problems (Storm Sewers):

Web Form: The street drain and field drain on Preston Ct does not appear to be able to properly handle large amounts of rain fall. It is common for both to become overwhelmed, especially the field drain in the back of 3807 Preston Ct. these drains need to be cleaned and inspected for proper sizing. Water flow out of field drain appears o be insufficient.

This storm sewer is private. It would be the responsibility of the owner, HOA, etc to maintain. We've inspected the public storm sewer downstream and it was clear.

I put in a request for a technician (Brian) to televise the stormsewer and confirm the pipes are clear and are without failure. Brian, reported that the downstream pond was holding water higher than the downstream invert of the storm sewer pipe. Therefore, slowing the flow and limiting capacity. We will investigate this further and confirm this is or is not causing a restriction. If it is, we can reach out to the downstream pond owner and potentially require them to resolve the issue. The rear yard inlet is private and should be maintained by the property owner(s).

Ed Sherfield asked that I forward this to Phil in CBU engineering department. I called the customer and left a voice mail to notify him.
