Line of Sight:

Other: PREVIOUSLY REPORTED, NOT RESOLVED: I reached out to you on April 7, 2026 about an electrical wire that is sitting on top of my garage; it runs from my house to the electric pole in my yard. You recommended that I report it to Duke Energy - I did, on the same day - Ticket # D7806903. No one has repaired this dangerous situation yet, I am very concerned about a wire touching my garage which has my car and lawn equipment stored inside. What do you recommend should be my next steps as Duke was unresponsive? OTHER : Since that time, I noticed that there is a very large tree/branch on the town property in the rear of my yard. This tree/branch is touching my rear yard neighbor's electrical wires - it should be removed - it has been there since the tornado in February. Thank you, Elida C. Behar April 21, 2026

For the electrical wire touching your garage, this would need to be addressed by Duke Energy, as the City does not manage or repair utility lines. Since you have already submitted a request, we recommend contacting Duke Energy again and referencing your existing ticket. Given that the wire is in contact with a structure, you may want to emphasize this as a potential safety concern and request a priority inspection. You can also contact their customer service or outage line directly for faster assistance. 800-343-3525 Regarding the tree/branch contacting electrical wires, this would also typically fall under Duke Energy’s responsibility, as they manage vegetation clearance around their lines. We recommend reporting this concern to them as well so it can be evaluated safely. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
