I live at 712 North Washington. I asked for a medium size recycling bin and I got a small one. How can I exchange it? Also my recycling bin was left in the street by the sanitation worker. Is this the new policy?
Does the city have a plan for taking in, and disposing of, our old trash bins and cans? Saying that "Residents are encouraged to reuse their old trash cans as yard waste containers" seems ingenuous. How long a yard waste season goes Bloomington have? -- 6 months? Where will I store 2 35-gal. cans and a 20-gal., plus the 3 bins currently used for recycling -- since my garage will be filled up with two 64-vallon containers?
I just took possession of a home I bought as sidewalk construction on E. Morningside was being completed. The home is at 4021 E. Morningside. It is my understanding the City redid part of the driveway after having to destroy it for sidewalk work. Unfortunately it appears a corner of the drive (front right / SE) is already cracking/chipping/spalling (see photo). I'm requesting the City patch this up before it continues to flake (not huge now but would like addressed so as not to spread) as an area driven over frequently. Otherwise looks fantastic and very happy with the new sidewalk and drive portion. Great neighborhood addition.
Hi, There's a couple of large road cuts at the intersection of Lincoln and 6th St. If the city is not planning on filling these any time soon could we at least get the sharp edges softened? Sometimes I've seen this done and it makes road cuts much easier to drive over without damaging your tires. Thanks, Vickie Nelson Bloomington

Mayo has installed a new post ( pole ) on my property at the corner of Brownridge and Fieldcrest in Hoosier acres. They did extensive digging around the area and were supposed to reseed, since I had my lawn completely reseeded this last fall. This has not been done and there is a muddy mess at the corner. Moreover holes were made at various places on the lawn and these were never filled in. This is a hazard in mowing or just walking on the lawn. If someone catches there foot in the hole it could result in a broken leg or twisted ankle. Mayo or the city would then be responsible. There are little flags all over the lawn, which needs to be mowed. Should I just remove these ?. Is the work completed ? On the pole there is a street lamp to replace the one currently at the corner, but neither is working, which is another hazard. The ditch in the area has also collapsed. Sidewalk has lifted due to tree roots
The pavement at the gutter/curb/catch basin in front of my home, 1914 Hackberry Rd, has failed and there is a 12"x12" hole at the catch basin. I am surmising that the connection has failed and has washed out under the pavement. Could you have someone check it out for us. Thanks, john
