There is currently no legal way for large trucks to get to businesses located here. The following keep them away: - Low railroad bridges on Adams, Fountain, and 11th - Hump railroad crossings on Adams and Fountain - The roundabout at 17th and Monroe - Narrow residential streets - A No Trucks sign on Crescent Rd, the only easy way in.
Recurring traffic congestion when west-bound volume increases (e.g. rush hour). Congestion backs up as far east as the railroad tracks and prevents traffic from reaching destinations between the rail road tracks and up to and including the first traffic light west of the SR-37 south-bound ramps. Potentially, the timing of the traffic lights at and west of the SR-37 south-bound ramps do not allow sufficient throughput to prevent the congestion. Requesting gathering of traffic data to determine if a temporary (i.e. during rush hour) timing change should be made to alleviate the congestion during recurring (and therefore predictable) times of the day.
Location 1008 E Thornton Dr.; Public safety/ traffic/ residential parking issue: Large amount of shoulder stone has eroded away due to to water run off from the street. Creating a large rut and beginning to undermine the edge of the steets pavement. (avg. 50'x1'x1') with the stone being washed towards Henderson St. then into the storm sewer system. This issue has been reported on multiple occasions over the last year by multiple residents.
I am submitting this request to replace the street sign on E Thorton Drive (off of S Henderson St & across from the Black Lumber Company on the south-side of town). The street sign is currently missing. Thank you.
Shrubs in front of Gouldys restraunt supply at 17th and Willis drive are obstructing view of on coming traffic while trying to pull out of Willis drive looking back to the west.
At 15th and Walnut, just west of Walnut, the curb is painted to allow parking. Often there are three cars parked there. When a car is parked as close to Walnut as legally possible according to the yellow curb, it is impossible to come east on 15th and get back over to the stop sign behind the stop line. This means the rear end of one's car is sticking into the westbound lane of 15th, or else the front is sticking into Walnut. If the yellow curb were extended westward from the intersection to leave room for just two cars to park, it would be simple to get over to the stop line and not be in the way of westbound traffic on 15th. For the past couple weeks I've observed the same Domino's delivery driver driving southbound on Washington at a fairly high rate of speed between 12 and 10th street. I suspect he cuts west through the alley between 9th and 10th to return to the Domino's location. Can something be done to slow this guy down? This is happening in the evening and nighttime hours.
Stop light at North Walnut and Old State Road 37. I waited over 7min for green light to turn from old 37 to Walnut. This is not the first time. Please fix the issue.
The intersection at Woodlawn and 11th street poses significant potential danger to drivers, walkers, and bicyclists. I walk past this intersection every day and have seen several near-accidents. I propose a 3-way stop at this intersection. Vehicle traffic going North and South is always traveling quickly and don’t always see walkers crossing Woodlawn. In some cases, I have witnessed drivers stopping to allow walkers to cross. But, this causes drivers going one-way on Woodlawn to attempt to cross. I propose implementing 2 stop signs on 11th street. This will allow walkers and bicyclists the right of way, and will help drivers better communicate between Woodlawn (one-way street) and 11th Street.
The E Southdowns Drive sign is missing where the street intersects with High Street. Also, the street signs at the intersection of E Southdowns Dr and Circle Dr are missing.
