The first priority of public street is to maintain a safe condition for people to drive. When someone take the advantage of “free legal parking” to extend personal “driveway” into public street permanently, do create a hazardous driving situation and the function of public street has been completely destroyed.

Multiple times I have witnessed near miss and possibly fatal accidents at the 2851 E Longview side parking on Pete Ellis. The angled parking is “back in only.” Traffic coming from the north on Pete Ellis doesn’t realize that people want to back-in. Traffic from the south who try to park have to make a 3 point turn.
The road is too busy for this.

Bloomington- *does absolutely nothing all summer*
Bloomington the first week of school 9:00am: *25 men with signs and cones block off 6 main roads for an hour pretending to do stuff and everyone is 30 mins late to school and work
Bloomington 10:00am-3:00 pm: *nothing*
Bloomington 3:30 pm-4:30pm: *gets back out the 25 men and cones, proceeds to block off every main road in town.*
I mean cmon guys. This is our tax money. Do better.

The stop signs along 7th got taken out over the summer and number of car accidents at the corner of 7th and Dunn has risen
considerably. I get what you're going for with the straight shot through to campus, but I would appreciate if you'd reevaluate if it's
worth it specifically at this one intersection. At first I thought people would get used to it and accidents would slow down, but this
has not been the case. This spring the number of accidents has been RISING and there have been THREE ACCIDENTS in the
last 48 hours. The sickening sound of crumping automobile plastic, going out to worry about injuries on the part of the involved
parties, and having traffic stopped in front of my house on a weekly basis has made living here substantially worse.
I think part of the problem is that this intersection REALLY looks like it should have a 4 way stop, and this can be seen by the
frequency of drivers unnecessarily stopping on 7th, assuming they have a stop. Also, heading South on Dunn the turn is almost
completely blind to the left and cars traveling quickly down 7th are given almost no chance to stop.

I understand State intersections but please work with State to provide better intersection support at N. Smith and 10th and N. Smith and 3rd. Both are confusing/dangerous at present as people whip around others out of line when impatient on left turners, since there is no left turn lane, etc. Vision gets obstructed and otherwise is a safety concern.

Smartphone use while driving is a huge problem in Bloomington. Almost every time I get on the road as a driver or cyclist, I see people staring at their phones while driving. Why aren't cops patroling the streets for this? It's a huge contributor to traffic accidents, and it makes me scared to ride my bike. People do it while they're stopped at stoplights or even stop signs, which is dangerous enough, but I see it all the time while people are driving! The tell-tale signs are swerving, driving very slowly, and obviously seeing someone's head pointed down toward their lap. The police should be focused on eradicating this habit before an innocent pedestrian or someone else dies.
