Streetlight in front of residence shines directly into their bedroom. Would like a shield placed on the east and south sides of the lamp to prevent the light from shining in.
Historic street lights on Hawthorne are rusting out and in bad need of repainting.
Intersection of 3rd and Pete Ellis is dangerous. Often a line for a left hand turn from 3rd develops to enter the B N parking lot. Island on 3rd doesn't allow traffic to get out of way from through traffic. Problem results in sudden braking and traffic congestion into College Mall and 3rd intersection. MR. KUPERSMITH FEELS THAT TRAFFIC TRAVELS AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED ON WEST 8TH STREET BETWEEN ADAMS STREET AND THE TRAILER COURT. HE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SOMETHING DONE IN THIS AREA, POSSIBLY SPEED BUMPS (SEE ATTACHED LETTER).
Citizen says that yesterday, Tues. May 12, at 9:30AM, a city employee driving a Blue Celebrity with municipal plates 34835 was tailgating other drivers, cut her off and was generally driving in a hazardous fashion which poorly represented the city. She thought this person should be reprimanded. The incident occurred on Walnut Street.
Caller said that on Wednesday, 4/23/97 a City recycling truck (Plate No. 34774) was going 50mph turning from South Walnut onto Miller Drive.
Citizen says on 4/22 City Sanitation truck nearly hit a bicyclist coming from Waldron onto Kirkwood and then hit a stop sign at the following street.
Citizen says alley next to her house (between7th & 8th Streets) is very heavily travelled and vehicles use a high rate of speed. Aside from gravel being spewed into her yard, she is afraid that a child or a pet will be hurt by cars going too fast. Says she can only call Police so many times. Wants to know if speed bumps could be installed to slow down traffic through the alley.
JAMES WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE LOADING ZONE LOCATED IN FRONT OF HIS OFFICES AT 418 S WALNUT STREET MOVED TO IN FRONT OF THE BARS THAT ARE LOCATED DOWN THE STREET. THE LOADING ZONE IS USED FOR DELIVERIES FOR THESE 2 BARS. JAMES WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE LOADING ZONE CHANGED TO PUBLIC PARKING. SEE ATTACHED STATEMENT FROM WEBSITE.
People has been driving around the barricade on w. Southern and has eroded the ground thus exposing the meter cover. Someone has since inverted the cover to make it easier to drive over. The cover is easily removed and small children could fall in. Please contact street about better blockade of the street to prevent people from driving around the barricade or removal of the barricade. Thanks Brent t
