I was in the left hand lane on Walnut (going north) and a truck was next to me in the right hand lane. He sped up and slowed down with traffic so I was not in his blind spot. He knew that I was there. At the 3rd street intersection where the lanes do the "jog" the truck did not follow the lane markings. He instead went straight and "merged" into my lane, cutting me off. He did not have a turn signal on. I had to slam on my breaks in order to advoid an accident. This type of thing has happened to me many times at this intersection. The cars do not follow the lane markings! Can you repaint the markings or do something about this intersection. If you would just sit there and watch it in the mornings you would see what I mean.

I've noticed quite a few cars traveling south bound on Washington Street between 12th and 10th at a fairly high rate of speed, especially as they crest the hill at 11th. With the new development at coming to the High Point commercial property on North Walnut at 11th, I feel like Washington is going to start seeing a lot more traffic heading downtown. Could traffic calming measures be investigated for this stretch of road?

There is a large tree that blocks the view of the east side of the road on 8th street from Roosevelt street. There have been many close calls with traffic and I think it's dangerous. The only way to see traffic coming from the east side is to pull up past the tree, but by then you are already halfway in the road. I would appreciate it if this tree could be cut down or at least cut in a way that makes it possible to see the road. Traffic from 5:00 - 6:30 on Banta is very dangerous due to lack of sidewalks and cars attempting to bypass traffic on W Country Club by driving up Banta, turning left onto Ralston, then turning to Rockport, then West onto Country Club. This leads to cars driving very fast up Banta. I would have submitted this as a "Close Call," as I was nearly hit twice. Once while pulling into my driveway, and again while picking up my mail. I believe a 4-way stoplight, with preference for W. Country Club, would be a good solution to the current 4-way stop sign which I believe generates these patterns. If there were no advantage to cutting through the neighborhood, the number of people doing so would decrease. Another solution would be to position speed cameras, or police officers to identify reckless drivers and begin ticketing more extensively in the neighborhood. However, those solutions are more temporary.

Hello, I am re-developing the property @ 3000 South Walnut. The location is where the former Southern Winds Hotel and Roosters club were located. The property at the beginning a workout facility and a chiropractors office. AS you pull out from the property and are going to turn left (North) and cross traffic, there are two trees located to the north on the side of the road. When cars are coming South and I am turning to the North, it is difficult to see whats coming and that is where the speed limit changes from 30 to 40mph, which is the place many seems to start speeding up. We will have more traffic than ever entering and leaving the property right from the beginning and even more as the property continues to be redeveloped overtime after the initial building and business's are active. A stop light right around there of course would be superb for the property but probably could never happen due to the traffic that occur that comes over the hill when people are traveling South down South Walnut. With that in mind I was hoping the two large trees could be taken down so it is much safer at that point because of the visibility that would open up. One tree is directly in from of the property and the other is directly in front on an older apartment complex that has around 10 apartments in it, it looks like. Would this be possible? Or maybe we could plant a couple new tress which would be much smaller and take several years to grow out? Of course that problem would show up again several years from now but it would take care of it presently for sevevral years. I am just worried about such a great new area being redeveloped for the area and future to have potential traffic issues with people being able to see when pulling out of the property. There is a road construction sign sitting to the right of the exit from the plaza (3rd and college mall) between German American bank and HuHot Mongolian Restaurant. This sign is obstructing view when using this exit and is not safe for people pulling out onto busy 3rd street. Please move it.

New stop light at Rolling Ridge way had traffic on 2nd street backed up to The Eye Center at 5:10pm. Usually takes around 10 minutes for me to get home it was 20 due to the poor timing of the new light. There was a time around 5:20pm where the light was only green going down 2nd street for a minute before it turned red. Safety concern as well for ambulances trying to get down 2nd street (especially by the co-op where there is cement barriers in the middle of the road). Will be a huge concern when 37 (I-69) 2nd street ramps under construction in a few months.

Good Evening, Since the light at Ridgeway (I'm pretty sure that's the st, it's right in front of Twin Lakes Gym) and 2nd Street started working on Monday traffic in the morning, but especially in the evening, has been horrendous on 2nd St. It is now currently taking me about 40 minutes to get from the IU Campus to Eller Rd when leaving campus around 5:15. Traffic is bumper to bumper from 2nd and Rogers until after the new light. I feel like this is not just a ridiculous amount of traffic for a city the size of Bloomington, but that it is creating dangerous traffic situations. I'm afraid it's going to cause accidents.
