Has there been a coliform test done on the malodorous effluent that is seeping out of the SE corner of the yard at this rental address and covering the sidewalk making it impossible to avoid? Or is an obvious sewage leak that has been present for months not a concern of the City? We haven't had a cholera outbreak in awhile now - perhaps that is the goal (?)
On the corner of Briarcliff and North Kingsley it appears that a sewer line has been damaged in some way and and is coming out of the ground. There was some recent utilities work done on this corner in the summer.
For the last week, our street has smelled like sewage. It seems to get worse everyday. I don't smell it inside the house, only outside.
At least 3 floors of the Walnut Street parking garage smell powerfully of sewer gas.
Nearly every year, in early February, the sewer backs up into my basement. The engineer reported that it is caused by large volumes of grease dumped into the sewer after Chinese New Year, then the cold, causing fatbergs to form just beyond the access at the end of the street. My basement is the lowest, so I get hit. In recent years, preventative cleaning has been scheduled–last year it did not back up! I'd like to make sure that happens again, to prevent a fifth annual sewer flood at my house. Thank you!
Third year in a row (2/8/2018 # 163027, 2/8/2019 #167355), when the fatberg grows just downstream from me, the city delivers hundreds of gallons of sewage into my basement. This year was a new high water: 6-7 inches. It is sewer, not my house backing up... It is because of a flaw in the connections just downstream from me. The city has closed the previous reports as "Resolved" without my consent. This is obviously not resolved. I'd much rather have Bloomington spend money on fixing this, rather than attorney fees, but without quick resolution, this year, I will proceed.
I discovered that AEG had drilled through my sewer tile after calling plumbers several times to fix sewer blockages. On April 9, 2024, I contacted Eddie Helmondollar and his supervisor Dave Craig (cc:ed above) with pictures of the damage and a copy of the invoice I paid to the plumbing company ($2250). Dave says that he has repeatedly contacted Accounts Payable to check on the status of my claim. But despite my regular requests for help, I have not received any assurance the claim is being processed or when to expect the reimbursement. It is now July—3 months since I alerted AEG to the problem. Please assist me with this request. Thank you for any help you can provide. Drain water and sewage water is backing up from the city lines up and out of the basement drains.
Habitually wet and often smelly sidewalk on north side of Cottage Grove, midway between Lincoln to the east and 213 E. Cottage Grove to the west. Leaky sewer line (?)
Please test the water leaking from this house for coliforms. It smells again. Water is in alley. See previous ureport case.
