To whom it concerns, Good morning! I am writing to express my displeasure with the snow removal services of the city in my neighborhood! Yesterday, I spent two and half hours removing the sidewalks along my property (703 West Ninth St., Fairview and West Ninth Street). It took me a long time to remove the heavy snow. I did this so the citizens and children would be able to walk easily on the sidewalks. I also had to remove the snow from the entrance to my driveway (on Fairview) so that I could drive out in emergency. I have a neighbor who has a medical issue that in case of emergency must get out of her driveway which she shares with me. I find the city ordinance obliging the homeowners to remove the snow from their property after 24 hours to be unfair! The amount of snow on my property when I removed it was close to 16 inches. Now it is over 3 feet because the snow removal crew dumped the streets snow on my sidewalks and driveway. Please send someone to remove the snow from my property. I am 73 years old and can no longer remove the snow for the second time. Please contact me at 812-322-4702 if you need to talk to me regarding this issue. Shahyar Daneshgar [email protected]
Sidewalks in the creastmont complex have not been cleared, nor are they attempting yo clear them.
Bravo to the Street dept on getting our streets cleaned at Winslow Farms. Thank you so very much for the great job you do.
Would it be possible to coordinate with county highway to windrow the snow from Curry Pike into open Green space on the east side of Curry instead of the West side into residential driveways? With 15 in we would have approximately 4 ft of snow in our driveways and the east side Green space for the church and Sentra could handle this much snow without having elderly people blocked in. I know this is a unique request given geographic location and the city county line. Thank you for your consideration. Best regards Matt
There are numerous houses on Woodlawn Avenue north of University St that have very icy conditions. Many of these appear to be rental properties with signs for Chickering Rentals out front (although it is not only these properties). The snow ended on Saturday night and it is now Wednesday. It is fully apparent that absolutely no effort was put into snow removal, which has now produced icy conditions. This is unacceptable. The city needs to put more effort into managing repeat offender properties that do not care about being decent community members.
Sidewalks remain uncleared making the sidewalk inaccessible for pedestrian traffic
Not a request, a question based on a neighborhood association listserv post. Is this true: "They never clear the streets on Saturday or Sunday." Also, what does the City use for road "salt?" Thanks !
