The company installing fiber optic broadband destroyed part of the road in our cul-de-sac, busted a water pipe, and left the road in pretty bad shape. This is a flooding hazard and has damaged the aesthetics of the neighborhood as well.
Not sure if this is streets, sanitation, or animal control but there is a dead baby deer laying across a storm water drain on East Winslow Farm Drive. didn't know if it had been reported.
I am a EC commissioner and Utility Dept Storm sewer volunteer and have been trying to keep my neighborhoods storm drains clear to prevent street flooding. I have been removing pavement fragments for several months that have washed downhill to the storm sewers at the intersection of Queensway and Chelsey Court. Today I cleared the debris from these at this location and added new eroded pavement that have been washing downslope to the drains. I consolidated the material on the curb and grass at the northeast drain at the intersection. This material can and has obstructed the drains and some has washed into the underground sewer line. Thus these drains when obstructed can result in street flooding, blocking the underground storm sewer and result in stream water contamination. Can these debris be removed and disposed of? On the north side of the newly-paved 7th Street, between Dunn and College Avenues, there are numerous locations where sewer and water drain covers are sinking into the ground...it is excessively bumpy, hazardous and only going to get worse unless addressed immediately.
I am wondering why Olcott was left in this condition while repaving recently. This seems to be a good way for water to collect and even freeze if we get colder weather. Is there a plan to smooth this out? Could I also request that the end of Olcott/ Moores Pike gets a look. Already there has been Ice pools at the crease from paving. It’s a dangerous situation if a car cannot stop when ice forms there. Thank you Sharon
Hello, For several months now I have noticed a large wet patch on the side of W. Bloomfield Rd in between the entrance to the Twin Lakes Rec Center and the entrance to the lower ball field. The water overflows onto the the west-bound lane of W. Bloomfield Rd as it runs down the hill. The fact that the area never dries up makes me think some sort of water line may be leaking. I just wanted to bring it to your attention because when winter really sets in I am concerned that west-bound lane will be a sheet of ice. Thanks for your time. Thanks, Matt
A back tire on my car was completely blown out tonight driving down High Street between Maxwell & Covenanter. The pot holes along that stretch are REDICULOUS!!! They were all filled with water due to rain so I couldn't see them and I almost lost control of my vehicle when my tire went into a deep one. My car was forced onto the sidewalk. I could have hit someone walking there! SOMETHING MUST BE DONE TO REPAIR THAT STREET!! It will cost me over $800 to get my car towed and new tire + installation. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION!
Before you even begin, yes, I am aware of the area indicated is not part of your responsibility, but everything that is causing the issue is coming from City side. If I may, I’m very grateful that the city sand, salt, plow trucks pass this way each snowy icy day. But now the sand is making its own Sand-Bar. Which in turn, causes water to run across the road and wash out the opposite side. ( not a good thing for those of us that live on the opposite side) If I may request the street sweeper to pass aggressively directly in line with the building that is opposite to the address of 1604 Weimer Rd. that would be amazing. And since I’m pushing the envelope, could the driver of said sweeper, just continue to connect the last 100-yards onto Sudbury Dr. and score those brownie points with your neighbors. I was driving south on S. Walnut Street wanting to take a left turn at the traffic light to get to Hillside Drive and ran into a large and deep pothole that was filled with water. It made a terrible sound of something breaking on the front right side. I was just driving to Royal on the eastside, 3rd Street, and was told that I need to get 3 new tires (one was replaced last year) because I was driving my Subaru Forester all wheel drive and if one tire is ruined, all the rest need to be replaced as well. (total cost $ 681.20) I am very angry at the Street Dept. for not taking care of our streets and filling all the potholes and there are many.
Starting at the intersection of E Second street and Eastside Drive, there are several potholes and missing pieces of pavement, including next to the driveway at 704 and there are especially huge holes next to the driveway at 724 Eastside. During heavy rainfall, the problem gets worse because chunks of pavement next to the holes are getting carried away by the water.
