this area tends to be an area that needs alot of attention, i picked up two large bags of trash, and clothes along the tree lined area across from frank sothern center. it was a full trunk load. wanted to say henderson seems to be a hot spot for this. also winslow road from henderson to walnut street. i pick alot up there also, but need some help sometimes. ths david

On February 24 during a wind storm a tree, which stands near the power line between Arden Dr. and Queens Way, dangerously cracked. The workers from Duke Energy, who cut a big portion of the tree, understandably didn’t want it to fall on the power line. They did it in a such way that branches fell to our back yard and even damaged the fence. Duke doesn’t want to remove debris and repair the fence. Despite the tree stand on the land belonging to Duke (or town?) and the damage was not the act of nature, they claim that it is not their responsibility. We hired Douglas Fowler to come clear out our huge fallen tree and his crew cleaned up the side walk as well. So the city crew just needs to come and get their two orange cones. :)
On Thursday afternoon, the storm brought down half of our huge sugar maple tree. It fell across the road closing Rockport Rd completely. Neighbors and my husband, Steve Cook, cut and cleared the road. Your road crew came by and put cones on either end of the sidewalk and said they would be back the next day to clear the sidewalk, but they did not come – no blame at all as we are sure they were plenty busy. We wanted to make sure there was a record of this work still needing to be done. Feel free to call and leave a message. An arborist will be coming to ascertain the rest of the tree and the removal of the giant from our yard, although with thunderstorms all Saturday, I don't expect it will be today. Thank you.
On Woodstock Place, a dead tree fell into the ROW. It isn’t an immediate hazard but I don’t have a chainsaw to cut it up and move it. It’s 4-5 houses into Woodstock on the north side of the street.
There are lots of asphalt chunks in the gutter that interfere with keeping the storm drains unclogged.
A large pile of leaves has been left covering the pedestrian path in SE Park.
