Dead squirrel. Put a box over it so that neighborhood kids wouldn’t play with it, but it is still next to the bush and next to the mailbox as seen in the attached image. The tail is visible from under the box.

There is a dead animal on the sidewalk. It has been there for at least a week and is emitting a foul odor.
Someone moved a dead raccoon from the roadway to our yard, where it is currently decomposing. We are at 1300 E Hillside Drive, immediately east of the Hillside Church of Christ. The dead raccoon is currently under an ornamental tree in our front yard, on the west side of the lot, which is the side nearest the church's driveway. Can you please advise how we go about having this dead animal removed? Many thanks for any help. Darrin Dolehanty

Ms. Cunningham called with a concern about a raccoon in the Gentry Quarters dumpster and how she had been treated by Animal Control. She called the landlord, Health Dept, and Animal Control and was given the runaround at all 3 about the raccoon. She claims to have been told by Animal Control that "we're closed today and don't have anyone to help you." She's expressed concerns that the landlord leaves the JB's Disposal dumpster lid open, inviting in the raccoon, and HAND hasn't been helpful with the tenant-landlord complaint. She was quite frustrated -- not only to not get answers to her questions, or help with the raccoon, but to feel like she'd been brushed off and given the run around by so many departments. As soon as I hung up with Ms. Cunningham, I took a second call from another Gentry Quarters resident with concerns about the raccoon. Is Animal Control available to assist with the raccoon? Neglected dog. Animal is left outside without food or shelter for up to ten hours a day while the owners are home or working. The animal is clearly distressed when left outside for extended periods of time.
Residents of 1304 South Park leave their animal chained outside for most of the day without food or water. The dog is clearly in distress when left alone outside for extended periods of time. Please talk to the homeowners about not neglecting their dog.
