The sidewalk is unlevel and a safety hazard, especially when it rains mud and water collects making it slippery. There are a lot of elderly people in our community, which makes it a trip hazard. Also, in the winter makes it very difficult to shovel the snow. I submitted a request to have it repaired in December when they repaired the one across the street. However, they said they would repair it this Spring. Thank you. Vertessa

I call to your attention a significant safety concern regarding the curbing located outside of 1700 N. Lincoln St. in Bloomington. This curbing is uneven with the sidewalk and other adjacent curbing; it is cracking and deteriorating in some areas. The curbing is in a high student foot traffic area used by several hundred students per day while Indiana University classes are in full session. I am requesting that the Bloomington Street Division replace the damaged curbing and install ADA-compliant curb ramps in the affected areas. While repairing the road and storm water drainage issue. The city workers damaged this curb with the excavator they were using. They came back and repaired other damage to curbs, but did not repair this damage.

The curb is no longer sufficient to channel water into the nearby street drain. 2002 Ashwood Lane is located at the bottom of a hill where water from all of the Ashwood development, in The Stands, flows. The curb has been eroded away, and the majority of the water now flows into the driveway before reaching the city street drain. The result is flooding in the driveway and property of 2002 E Ashwood Lane. The curb needs to be repaired or rebuilt to handle the flow of water runoff to appropriately reach the city sewer drain.

Downtown near Uptown there are unhoused people walking around in state of disarray, they leave trash and bodily fluids/matter downtown. There is trash in the planters on the street corners. It doesn't feel safe to be downtown. On the weekends and at night it is worse particularly during the summer. There should be a way to have compassionate policies and feeling safe at the same time. Mayor Thomson needs to do a better job of addressing these issues. It doesn't feel like a safe place and downtown needs to be cleaned up of all refuse. Thank you.

Sidewalk between Cherry Canary and PopKorn is very degraded. The expansion joints in the sidewalk are crumbling apart and are becoming larger. Becoming a hazard for mobility aid (wheelchair/rollator) casters.
