Sidewalk & Curb Complaints

1787 W 3rd ST

Case Date:
10/3/2025

Sidewalk along Landmark has no curb ramp on one end for wheelchairs and power chairs to get on and off. And on the other end which was just redone really has no curb ramp either. You might be able to drive an RC car on it that how narrow the flat spot is. You cant drive a chair up on it because its not flat. People in wheelchairs and Powerchairs are avoiding this and going the wrong way down the street towards 3rd in a blind curve. Its only a matter of time before a car rounds that blind curve to find a wheel chair user in the lane also heading towards them. We just had a girl stuck out there today trying to get on the sidewalk but couldn't. Somebody is gonna get hit. Please let us know how we can help you help this matter. Best Wishes, Kevin. The sidewalks on our street are dangerously raised. This issue was first reported about two years ago, and we also notified city crews in person when they were here for other work on our street. The sidewalks are used daily by children in our cul-de-sac, which makes this a serious safety concern. Additionally, tree roots are growing under the sidewalks and into our front yard. Our lawn care provider even expressed concern that his equipment could be damaged by the exposed roots. These issues require immediate attention from the city. Could you please let me know—via email or phone—how you intend to address this matter at your earliest convenience? Thank you for your prompt attention.

Can the City review this section of sidewalk at College Ave and Kirkwood, right out front of The Tap? It may be out of compliance with the City ordinances that require a minimum 5-feet of width for sidewalks. This portion of sidewalk has felt narrow and congested for years. Today, I was walking through and with other foot traffic got pushed to the side where that limestone corner cap sticks out beyond the base of the planter and hit my leg on it. The railing from the Tap combined with that planter creates a significant hazard for pedestrians and restricts the flow of foot traffic. The sidewalk narrows right there. This could be fixed by removing the planter.

The curb is broken. The pieces are in the front yard of the adjacent property. I think the volunteer raingarden might be a better use of the space than a new curb. Less than a year since the concrete sanding / beveling was done, one more sidewalk square needs it. As to the beveling itself---looks bad and won't weather into something better. Safer, yes.

This ADA ramp is ADA in name only. That asphalt patch just makes it worse.
