This is the second time I have reported this issue. In the fall there was a water main break on our street and the water company did not properly repair the dig site. We now have a mud pit/hole at the site of the repair and we recently had a visitor trip and almost fall at the site. I would appreciate this being fixed right away. Thank you, John Tweedie
Hello, I am writing to inquire about whether the sidewalk on the east side of S. Jackson St. between 3rd and 4th streets can be repaired. As a person with a visual impairment, I have a terrible time walking on the sidewalk in this location, which is in the block where my house is. The sidewalk is very uneven, with tripping hazards throughout its course due to decay. If I didn't have a visual impairment, it would certainly be easier to walk on this part of the sidewalk, but I know that others with no visual impairment also have a difficult time because of the deteriorated surface. The weeds along the street are overwhelming the sidewalk in this area. Not sure who is responsible for upkeep--city or adjacent property owners.
Hi there, there are a few section on e ridgeview dr and e sunny slopes dr that have over growth of a bush/ tree into the road. Specifically across from 214 e ridgeview dr, where I have seen many cars swerve around to miss the overgrowth, making it dangerous for other cars and people walking in the neighborhood. In the past the city has come out to trim it back with a big machine. Could we please get it trimmed back again? I would really appreciate it so I can feel safe walking with my daughter around her and driving on the street. Thank you!
I submitted a request for repair of this sidewalk in front of the house with no response. So then I submitted a 50-50 request to get this repaired, also with no response. I have already seen a child fall and skin up his hands and knees due to this sidewalk which has been like this for so long. It got worse when a city work truck came over the curb to collect brush and scooped so deep that the big root was pulled up and worsened the crack. Several surrounding slabs are cracked, but this one is the worst. Who do I need to contact to get this hazard repaired? Nothing so far seems to have worked. Cassie Slone owns Cherry Canary Vintage (214 W. 4th St). There's a metal plate across her sidewalk that is disintegrating and she's concerned that it's dangerous if someone steps into it. She believes that a similar sidewalk issue was repaired at the business next to her several months ago.
At the north edge of the sidewalk that goes under the railroad bridge on 10th Street, the black railing is broken and leaning into the sidewalk. It doesn't seem to serve a purpose anyway, can you just cut off a few sections on the north end? Or any other repair would be appreciated to help make the full sidewalk width usable and to make sure no one crashes into it at night.
There's poison ivy growing on the south side of Fourth St. just east of Jefferson (where Fourth is a walking path only). It's at the edge of the walkway, mostly around the bases of some of the metal posts. There's also some poison ivy growing on the north side, a little further east. Could you please spray or otherwise remove this? Thank you!
Hello, the sidewalks along woodlawn from bryan park to the intersection on atwater are very hazardous. Many sections are unshoveled and are now frozen and slippery - I nearly fell today. Could these please be shoveled/salted? Thanks so much!
3rd Street, between Washington and Lincoln Streets, the sidewalks bordering the City Public Lot next to the police station. The sidewalk is raised above a 1/2" (ADA says less) making it hard for a manual wheelchair to get over it. Must go around the block or out into the street. Can it be smoothed down or asphalt added to make it beveled?
