Very confused as to why when I have stopped in at City Hall past few days/weeks that I am being assisted by people I recognize from running different departments and assisting at other city public events. Do you not have dedicated receptionists - they clearly (since us active citizens attend city events) have a specific job in another area? Seems like a waste of resources when there are lots of complaints/requests on here that us citizens have filled out asking for help with rentals, problems with buildings, or even a complaint straight to the mayors office. Do you not have enough staff to run this city? Is this why our concerns aren’t being addressed?

To city council: we just read through some of the very biased comments and concerns on how you believe budget and goals should be approached ahead of this budget session. Why on earth would a composting program and spending money in the short term for very specific studies help our town now? All of us citizens want this place to flourish long-term as well, but we will not survive and make it to the long term if you don’t adjust your priorities for your constituents instead of your personal gain. Pay an actual LIVING wage to employees, not just department leaders - this is egregious in many areas of this town including city. Look beyond just BFD & BPD for providing incentives. Look around, city hall cannot even staff a front desk but you expect the city to run in all other areas when employees and citizens can barely keep afloat? Very tone deaf this year by way of what seems to be selfishness. Many of us are very disappointed in this misalignment of administration and council.

Your udo housing survey isn't letting people submit. Main complaint I had is the political cow towing to where students should be. Main one was student housing should be by campus. Don't pretend east of college mall is next to campus or some of the other highlighted areas. Campus isn't in the rural country anymore. It's the middle of town. The immediate surroundings should be full of students for the benefit of all. Just because rich single family homes of non students is what is there doesn't mean that should be. That's the absolute worst place to freeze in history for prices to rise and the privileged to claim. We should have nice but dense student oriented housing in the immediacy of all sides of campus, not a mile or longer away. Bad for environment, traffic, equity, and Social cohesion.

The last couple of times we've visited the Switchyard park to play Bocce, the benches along the courts were overrun with people sleeping, drinking, and smoking. Not a very inviting or family friendly atmosphere. We also witnessed the same behaviours, along with what appeared to be drug use in the shelter house next to the playground. Will there be any enforcement of the rules at the park?

I tried to call but no one answered but i just wanted to urge y'all to vote no against the ban for tents. It's already getting cold out winter time is an inhuman and fucked up time to even propose this. That's all thanks

Reported several times but white Rubicon van remains parked in grass at 302 Park Ridge. Can't see follow up comments anymore in reports. Did something change? Also trailer now in front yard of 300 Park Ridge.

I walked by a city parking enforcement official this afternoon, idling in his vehicle while socializing with a second man leaning into the open driver's side window to converse with the parking official while his own vehicle idled across the street. Neither man was wearing a mask despite their proximity. The official was driving Parking Enforcement vehicle number 250, and this was at about 1:25 PM on Hawthorne, just north of Hunter near campus. It would be good if city employees could be encouraged to take pandemic precautions more seriously, particularly when on the job, to prevent unnecessary danger to the community and other city personnel during this dire point in the crisis.

Abandoned Kmart reminds an eyesore on eastside with more and more cars parked there. Seems to be an industrial/service parking lot right now. Could be sooooo much better utilized for a busy bustling part of town near the mall. Nice to emphasize walking space and green space there but some restaurants/retail/hotel and perhaps commercial or housing too. Please provide incentives for development since a number of years now. Or a nice planning group like has happened in other redevelopment sites. Thank you!

Speed enforcement request for enhanced law enforcement monitoring of E 3rd St east of Smith. Folks go CRAZY fast there (recent death) despite it being a lower speed zone adjacent to neighborhoods and an ice cream shop, etc. Fine to go 40. NOT fine to go 80.

I just read that vaccines will go to 80, 70, then 60 years of age. However, why are immune compromised individuals not yet included? They are often also still in the workforce and in greater contact with others in the community at risk of both spreading and receiving the virus. Please ensure they are included in the priority listing. I don't know how to message the health people so please don't tell me to talk to them and the Mayor has more sway anyways.
