Hi, I am kind of confused about offroading laws / city ordinances. From what I can tell it is not illegal to drive a vehicle (say a jeep) on someone elses property unless one of the following is true: - There are posted no trespassing signs - You are told to stop - You have to bypass some sort of security system (such as a locked gated) This doesn't sound right to me though. Surely i'm missing something? Or is it legal to drive a vehicle on someones yard or something as long as you are not explicitly told not to? That would seem weird to me but I just cant find anything that says otherwise.

Hello, my name is Rob. I am a state certified Firefighter and EMT. I Collect fire and EMS patches. I really want to start collecting police patches. I'm not sure if people other than a LEO can ask for a patch but I wondered because I am still in emergency services as a fireman and an EMT If I could request a used patch from your police department. I was severely injured about a year ago and cannot go back to firefighting. I can scan copies of my Michigan fire and EMS certifications if needed to prove I am legit. Any patch I receive is strictly for display and never sold. I thank you for considering my request for one of your department patches. Several neighbors, and myself, have been victims of actions done by the unhoused. Just last night (1-5-24), our car was broken into for the second time in less than a year. This time, we saw the person before anything was taken. This area needs help. While we are all understanding of the needs of the unhoused, we in this neighborhood, have a right to feel safe for our families. In less than a year, this area has had vehicle break ins, home invasions, confrontation about blocking front doors, and theft. Please help all Bloomington residents, not just the unhoused.

Our new neighbors at the corner of Stephens and Etter Dr. in Eastern Heights addition, appear to be operating an enterprise that operates primarily at night, with people arriving in cars for stays of a few minutes, often leaving their cars running in the street while disappearing into the garage, and returning with small and large packages. These are a wide range of varied vehicles, never the same, coming and going until 4am sometimes. This is a normally very quiet and subdued neighborhood with a nice mix of owner owned homes and rentals, and a variation of students and retirees and children. The appearance of this corner venture is unsettling and disruptive of neighborhood life-and I am unaware of any legal venture that operates in this fashion. It would be good if a Bloomington Police car could make occasional trips by this house and through Eastern Heights for a while. Perhaps they will be able to figure out what is going on, or at least discourage what appears to be a common nuisance. Thank You.

There is been a constant flow of drug deals between people who park at Timber Ridge Apartments and go to Crawford Apartments. They are leaving their used syringes in the parking lot, and passing out in their vehicles. Space is very limited and we need the parking spaces for the residents. Who do we contact to clean the syringes up? There are young kids who live here who like to play outside. Police have been called numerous times for the people passed out in their cars. Timber Ridge parking should be for residents and guest only! We need more signs that say such!! Or patrol the area please!!

522 Davis street There is someone camping at bottom of hill. Pitches tent at night, has grocery cart full of metal. has left urine in bottles on property. If individual is urinating, one can deduce that defecation is taking place as well. These are biohazards. Your assistance in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

This man is going to cause an accident or he’s gonna get run over by a car. He’s been on the street corner for well over a year almost every day he’s getting more and more bold going out into the traffic. This is unacceptable behavior if this was IU student in front of a fraternity house on third street, this would never been allowed to go on.

Someone in this general area is playing extremely loud music. This began last night at around 1:30a.m. I attempted to call the proper phone number ((812) 339-4477) to file a noise complaint, but the call never connected. I attempted to call three or four times before giving up. Today, it has started again, in the same general area, and again, I was unable to call to file a noise complaint. I have had issues with trying to file a noise complaint in the past - either I get placed on hold for an hour (or until I give up), or the call refuses to connect. I've spoken to others who have described similar issues, so I know this isn't just on my end. There needs to be an online method to file noise complaints since the phone system does not seem to be reliable. Either way, since I couldn't file a complaint over the phone, I am doing so here.
