Training for Indy Monumental Marathon and running lots! The Bloomington B-Line and Rail Trail and Clear Creek trails are AWESOME!! As I always do, this am I start at Hillside and S. Lincoln, run west on Hilside across Walnut until where Hillside dead ends. run south and this street deadends. There is a pat through the woods that picks up old rail line. run west into the former railyard. run across this area passing over the soon to be completed new B-Line and pick up what I call the rail trail but not certain if technically this is the rail trail. This continues until Country Club. Cross Country Club and am on the official Rail Trail. This am, a private security vehicle and 2 guys stopped me as I came out of the wooded trail and was about to cross Country Club. They said I had been trespassing on CSX land. What is the deal? Where exactly is CSX property and where is it ok to run?

Location of your Problem: 1800 E Second Details: Residential Neighborhood Parking sign missing? The other day a car parked in the 1800 bloc of E Second Street got a ticket. I felt sorry for the person because there was no "Residential Neighborhood Parking" sign at that section of Second Street. There are 2 close by but they could be perceived as pertaining only to those sections and not to the next, where the car was parked. If parking is not allowed there (which I think it is not) could you please put up a sign? Thanks. Contact Info Name: Stella Hooker-Haase Email: altfluit@yahoo.com Telephone: 333-7006

Location of your Problem: 1821 and 1824 E Thornton Drive Details: I live on East Thornton Drive in Beechwood Manor II. I have a copy of the ordinance for our neighborhood (found in plat book 7, page 99). The ordinance states that "Every dwelling shall have a ...driveway... All residents are to park off the street on these drives..." Two of my neighbors regularly park thier cars on the street. House 1821 parks one of their cars on the street, and house 1824 parks 2 cars on the street. This is becoming an issue because snow plows cannot clear snow effectively and the trash trucks need to pull back and forth multiple times to turn around in the cul-de-sac. Will someone from the city remind my neighbors that they cannot park in the street? Thank you! Contact Info Name: E Thornton Drive Email: ethorntondr@gmail.com Telephone:

Harold Evans e-mailed the department: this morning I read about one of your program offers in our local newspaper. Since I'm interested in water distribution in our city, I thought this tour of the many historical water sources in Bloomington could be worthwhile. The article directs us to sign up for this tour at our city website. There is no mention anywhere on that site about this particular event and many attempts to search for it were fruitless. I then contacted someone in your department by phone who didn't know anything about the event either. It seems to me that the signup process for events like this is so difficult that I really don't see how a sufficient number of people would ever be able to register in order to make the tour happen. If this is how you run your activity offers, I can see why you might look good to the city managers, but in fact, not be doing anything worthwhile at all. The way you are running your department, Mr. Renneisen, is a joke. It looks like this is another example of how our tax money is wasted on worthless politicians. Have a good and QUIET day. Dr. Harold F. Evans 812-330-1550.

Kim Evans would like to know why the mowers have not been mowing the northern slope of Park Ridge East Park. It is becoming overgrown in areas we were previously able to walk.

Submitted on 11/11/10 by Sonya Thompson sonya727@yahoo.com: My husband and I are members at Twin Lakes Recreation Center. It is very nice, well maintained, and much cleaner under the Park and Rec than as Sportsplex. The equipment is great and each time I have had a questions, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. That being said, I want to tell you about 11/6/10. My husband went to workout and there was a basketball league or tournament going on late in the afternoon. A group of men were standing directly in front of the doors and had absolutely no consideration about smoking there. I want there on Sunday morning and the entire front walk was strewn with cigarette butts. This is absolutely disgusting! Smoking should not be allowed on the premises and if smokers choose to smoke, they should have to do so in their cars or completely removed from the property. This is a health facility with youth programs and the city should do more to protect the rights of non-smokers and further uphold the strict non-smoking policies of our city. Thank you for your attention to my concerns.

The property on the S/W corner of Woodlawn and 1st Street has over grown bushes that encroach on to the sidewalk on Woodlawn causing pedestrians to walk in the street. The yard is pretty over grown too.
