Ferguson Dog Park -- LOVE the place! But there are DEEP holes everywhere - twisting ankles and had my dog not been just walking, she stepped in such a deep one it would have snapped her leg if she had been running! I would be happy to help fill these holes! VERY dangerous! Signs posted to not let the dogs dig holes would be great to see! I don't need a DR bill or a vet bill just from running my dog!

Homeless people on our back porch again David Webb <spiderwebb103061@yahoo.com> Tue, Jul 12, 2016 at 9:48 PM Reply-To: David Webb <spiderwebb103061@yahoo.com> To: "mayor@bloomington.in.gov" <mayor@bloomington.in.gov> Dear Mr. Mayor Once again tonight one of my managers had to kick another homeless man off of our back porch area. This same man was warned about trespassing on our property just a week ago and was told that if he came back on our property that he would be arrested. Officer Kevin Frank was the responding officer after we had to call a second time to get anyone to respond. Officer Frank talked to the man and just let him go warning him again that he was trespassing once again and then informed my manager that since the officer didn't see him on our property that he couldn't do anything about it. The Man admitted to the officer that he had been on our property again tonight but nothing again was done. I don't understand why the police are not able to do anything even after this man has been warned that the next time he would go to jail. I'm sympathetic but when my employees are being threatened and spit on things are getting very much out of hand! What is going to take? Maybe one of my employees getting hurt before anything gets done with this problem? One of my customers told me she works in the poplars building and she is doesn't feel comfortable walking to Cafe Pizzaria for lunch in the middle of the day! Things a really out of hand and if one of my employees gets hurt because of this problem I am going to be very upset that nothing is being done. I don't know what the answer is but I do know that our police chief has reached out to us and I appreciate this very much but when nothing happens after warnings have been issued ... Very frustrated with our city government! Thank you for hopefully taking the time to read this, Sincerely, David Webb/Cafe Pizzaria,Inc.

It has been brought to my attention that the sanitation trucks have been operating all summer without air conditioning. It has supposedly been reported to several different departments and no action has occurred. Thank you for your time.

Dear Mayor Hamilton, Thank you for your op-ed piece, “Pistols in the Pool, Machine Guns on Parade and Nothing We Can Do,” published in the NY Times. You message was clear, passionate, and eloquent while posing the crucial question of how to keep our town safe and clarifying how we’ve arrived at these untenable circumstances. Your timing for pointing out Republican Vice President nominee Mike Pence as the source of this situation in particular is appreciated. My husband and I are so glad your message was given this platform. As parents of a son in law enforcement, we were also glad you addressed how hazardous the lack of gun restrictions in Indiana is for police officers. Thank you for taking this stand. Please know you have my support. Sincerely yours, Melissa Keller

Lisa Merchant 502.939.6538 called to express concern about homeless/transient population on Kirkwood becoming more assertive and aggressive. Daughter (rising IU junior) works at Pitaya and is approached daily, including being asked outright for her take-out food container yesterday. Lisa called BPD and was told that police hands are tied due to the city's stance on the issue. She said she worries that her daughter will be unsafe while walking to her car after work once it gets dark earlier, and suggests that a reserve BPD officer be available to "walk girls to their cars" after sundown. Just wants to be added to the broader list of concerns about city homeless.
