On June 26th, I took my daughter to Switchyard Park. We were playing in the Splash Pad some time between noon and 12:30 when I heard a man yell, “Fuck you, Karen!”
I looked in the direction of the sound, toward the shelter nearest the Splash Pad (the one with the bathrooms attached). I saw a tall, skinny man in a neon “Parks” vest storming off away from a family with a young child. There were two other Parks employees sitting at a table under the same shelter and the man that stomped off went to light up a cigarette behind the shelter.
While I did not witness the entire situation, I presume the woman asked him not to smoke under the shelter while everyone was eating lunch there and he got angry. It was hot that day, so I understand he wanted to be in the shade, but that is not an appropriate reaction.
I ask that you please investigate the situation to find out what happened from your employees themselves, as I only witnessed the tail-end of the confrontation.
Thank you.

The RCA park shelter house has become a place for parties of hundreds of people with a lot of alcohol consumed by underage people. I thought alcohol was not allowed by private groups in city parks. They make a lot of noise, litter, and take all parking spaces. Why is the city abandoning the people’s parks? They are gearing up now.

Last week on Saturday I submitted information about something happening at RCA Park shelter house. It was a large party with probably more than 200 people. There was underage drinking. This also happened last Thursday with about half the people. Again underage drinking. The police might want to investigate this party in relation to the crash in Riley.

Homeless junkies disrupting children and family time, profane shouting and making a nuisance for anyone trying to use the public restroom…. Lady in red jacket just nasty a rude, tired of bringing my kids here and listening to their shit, I see people literally avoid the bathroom with children. Can’t you remove them? I mean publicly screaming obscene things and just trying to literally camp out on city property where we cannot even have a picnic without hearing it?

The door latch on the porter pottie has broken. The door can’t lock now. This is at Winslow Woods. Plus, there is a syringe and plastic bottles in the toilet bowl! Please put a trash can and sharps container in this porter pottie.

The turf field at Twin Lakes is in dire need of full replacement, no additional patch work. It has become a full on health concern to youth and adults that rent the space and play on the turf. I have seen both youth and adults obtain an injury from the many poorly patched area, open seams with exposed concrete, and over all warm/matted down turf through out the entire field.

This is a follow on to my previous submission. A of some on, of very many, beyond dangerous locations that merit a full replacement of the turf vs just patches.

The path surrounding the parking lot of the Winslow Sports Complex needs to be repaved.
It is worn to the nub, cracked and uneven. It is a hazard to elderly and infirm people (of whom I am one). I walk there every day, several times a day. There are many of us who do this. During baseball games, there are also many parents and grandparents who have to walk this path.
You are just waiting for a lawsuit if this goes unrepaired.
Thank you.
