I just went swimming at Mills Pool this weekend for the first time. I recall having a credit remaining from the previous year, but the attendant indicated that these credits don't carry over nor are they refunded. It doesn't seem like it would be too much trouble to allow credits for swimming to carry over from the last year. I hope this is something you will consider for pool users in the future.
Who would I contact about working with the Movies in the Park program for 2016? I am an archivist at the Black Film Center/Archive at IU and our staff is interested in learning more about how we could become involved with the city to program a film featuring African American artists. Re: Non-inclusive equipment at Griffy Lake- Hello, I am an avid Kayaker and was excited to learn of Griffy's addition of 6 kayaks. My husband and I had visited several times and enjoyed the canoes (there were never kayaks available) and were glowing with praise for our new favorite lake. (photo attached). My excitement soon turned to bitter disappointment, and at this point I have no desire to return to Griffy. My husband and I rented a car to visit, only to be turned away (after the woman behind the counter looked me up and down) for being too large to ride. The kayaks at Griffy are the smallest size made with the lowest weight limit on the market. This is not inclusive. I urge you to consider adding a larger models that accommodate adult kayakers. This would better serve the community and prevent others from having this embarrassing, expensive, and horribly negative experience. Thank you for your consideration. Andrea McManis

Water fountain along Jackson Creek trail near the Sherwood Oaks park is not working.
I am a parent of three children participating in swim lessons at Bryan Park pool. I have several concerns with the lack of training and the ratios of children to instructors, especially in the level 1 class. The instructors are very nice, but clearly have not had instruction or training on how to conduct a swim class. My son in level one had about 14 kids in his class to one instructor. This is a safety issue in itself, but he also had very little instruction or even pool time during his lesson. He sat on the wall with his feet in the water 99% of the time other than when it was his turn to be dipped into the water for a few seconds. Additionally, in the toddler/guardian class, our poor instructor had just discovered she was teaching the class right before the class began. Needless to say, she was not prepared and did not have anything as far as activities pre-planned for the class. I understand that finding instructors may have been difficult this year, however, if a program is being offered especially ones that have a fee, I feel that there is an expectation for there to be some quality and training involved. Learning to swim is an extremely important skill that I would hope Parks and Rec would ensure to be a quality controlled program with many weeks prior training. Please consider implementing more staff and age and swim level specific training before swim sessions begin for these instructors in future sessions. Thank you for your time.
Bring back the arts to the city farmers market. Everything needs to be in a central location. I am not going to go out of my way twice a week to a Tuesday market and Saturday when I work on tuesdays. There’s a great need for Tuesday market, but it’s just for food. Please bring back the culture, life, art, and vibrancy to the original staple of the BTown farmers market. We want the vendors, food, and music/art all in one
