I am incredibly disappointed in the representation of the City of Bloomington by one of your employees. 1st - to make light of the fact that you are doing nothing and getting paid by taxpayer dollars is not funny. I understand that the job comes with perks, such as enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime event, but posts like this are in poor taste. Is this something that the City would share publicly? The second issue is that Shelby Drake is a dietitian. While she is welcome to her own opinion, she represents the City of Bloomington. To say something like "$29 is nothing compared to the price of not liking what you see in the mirror" is dangerous and irresponsible. How many people in the City of Bloomington struggle with disordered eating, body image issues, or eating disorders? There is already limited access to mental health and dietitian support in this city, and the person who is the "expert" is promoting negative and harmful messaging. She - an "expert" - is promoting diet culture and body shaming. I feel the need to put the word 'expert' in quotations, because it is hard to believe that somebody with expert-level knowledge is posting this. I sincerely hope that is not how she is treating the people that come to events or look to her and the City of Bloomington for expert advice. She represents the City as she teaches people of all ages - including children. As somebody who uses many of the services provided and is enjoying seeing so many new offerings, it saddens me to think that this person may be judging me during my own health and wellness journey, or even worse - that she could be using this type of messaging around children, teens, and young adults. People are welcome to their own opinions, and I do believe people can grow and change. I also believe that people need to understand the impact of the things they say when they are representatives for the health and wellness for the City of Bloomington. Social media posts such as needing to pay for a dietitian because you don't like what you see in the mirror need to be taken as seriously as they are.

I have two questions. 1. Can you reassure me that there will be programming in Bryan Park this spring/summer? I was disappointed to see that 90% of the winter programming is in Switchyard Park. I understand that it is new and exciting and has a lot of amenities but I really hope the other parks don’t get overlooked. 2. To whom do I speak about getting permission to install a temporary poetry hike in Winslow Woods? I would like to install cardboard signs on wooden stakes at half a dozen spots along the trail with a nature short poem on each. My initial thought was to do it for the Bloomington Montessori School (which my child attends) but I’d be happy to promote it more widely and it would certainly be available to anyone. Thank you.

I work for the Columbus, IN Parks and Recreation Department and have a few questions about how you process payments from vendors for your Farmer's Market. I see that you have Vermont Systems, RecTrac and was wondering what module you use to track vendors. If you could let me know that would be great!

Hi -- I live at 811 S. Fess Ave., and we have a hazardous street tree situation. Specifically, one of our street trees has several dead branches that are hanging over the street and sidewalk -- as such, we worry about a branch falling and injuring a pedestrian or car. I think the branches could be easily pruned with an extended trimmer -- we don't have one, though. Thank you so much for your attention to this matter -- best wishes, Geoff & Shari Sprinkle.

Disappointing checkout experience at Griffey Lake boat rental Saturday evening (12th) with male worker. I was with a group of strangers I had never met before for a function. In other words we were independent paddlers who did not know each other's names, etc. before today but happened to paddle together to make new friends. Worker was very rude about not wanting to make us change independently and refused to do so despite us requesting it. He said he only gives ones to "people who need it." A person I was with asked, "People like us?" And he said no. He did not know our situation and rushed to judgment. There is likelihood we will never see each other again and yet he only gave a single large bill and told us to deal with it. He should have tried solutions like asking if anyone had credit, asked what change people had to try to figure something out, etc. but instead assumed we were college kids who could figure it out while his ones were saved for folks he felt deserved them more. Again, we paddled together but did not drive together and did not know each other prior to today. One of us isn't even from the country. We paid independently. He also admitted the problem with ones was known to him yesterday. So he should have found a solution if was a known problem earlier. Not end of the world but a bad way to end an experience and disappointing lack of care and customer service from a public servant being a public servant myself. Please have a talk about trying to better find solutions for customers and making them feel respected with this worker. Thank you. His assumption was not crazy but he was not open to correction. He did not ask us if we were ok with splitting change or even apologize to my recollection. Don't fire this worker of course, not that the City would, but he needs to improve.

Follow up to Griffey comment. The woman working Saturday night was nice and had no issues though.

Hello, I made a mistake in registering my children for swim lessons. I registered for the classes under my name. (did not notice that I had to add their names to the account and choose them.) When I tried to register my 3 child for the same class as the other it wouldn't let me due to duplicate enrollment. It wasn't until after I submitted what I had that I realized what I did. Is it possible to get this straightened out and add my third child in for lessons? Also, I double clicked the submit button. Would this double charge my account?
