I applaud the decision for the city to convert a section of old SR 37 through Lower Cascades into a bike/pedestrian trail! However, are you expecting cyclists to be able to bike down North Walnut street to access the entrance? Are there any plans to connect the entrance to any of the existing bike infrastructure in town to actually encourage usage?
Motorcycles are getting through the road closed markers on the road through Lower Cascades Park. I'm afraid they are going to hurt pedestrians that are using the trail. There are many blind curves on that road and many children using it right now not thinking they need to watch for motorized traffic.
Given that tomorrow is the last date to lodge complaints against how the Southeast Park Trail 2 was constructed, and given that I've already lodged complaints against this (to no avail), I am one last time losing a last complaint against the SE Park Trail 2, to document that you people aren't even considering this issue as relevant. Just to document this for records, I've complained about the SE Park 2 issues for a couple of years now. The City chooses to ignore these complaints. I have only complained about how The City and their colleagues ignored my complaints over time. And still...... At some point will our city planners do something about this? No?
if it is possible to plow this trail for snow removal during hours of operation, i would be most appreciative
Broken tree overhanging path. Located along left side of paved path when walking north from the parking lot, past the strength machines, kind of across from the pitching warmup area.
There is a tree down across the trail from a recent storm. Approximate location shown on the attachment.
So when we have a 5 ft concrete sidewalk WE are responsible to clear it for the kids. As propertty owners. Then the city replaces it with 10 ft of asphalt, assuring us that we are no longer responsible for it. “We will take care of it, Parks and Rec will deal with it in a timely manner”. We get 0.7 inches of snow, the path is icy, and the city is nowhere to be seen. We have to clear the now TEN ft of path ourselves to avoid being sued. FU Hamiltlon! This is is less than an inch!
This tension wire is a hazard for cyclists and needs to be well lit for better visibility in the dark. Reflectors on the wire and along the bend in the path would also add to the safety. I am a 7th grade student at Jackson Creek Middle School. I ride my bike to school every day on the High St recreational path at around 7:30 am. It is dark at that time and I use lights on my bike. On Friday, Nov 5, I was biking down the hill towards this spot. I was going fast down this hill to have enough speed for the uphill right past this spot. Unfortunately, even with my bike light, the tension wire and the sudden bend in the path is hard to see in the dark. My shoulder hit the tension wire and knocked me off my bike. My bike had minor damage to the seat.
Someone has dumped a rusty gas fireplace as well as blower motor along Winslow Woods mile long loop. It's in the woods just off the trail along the west leg towards north corner.
