I am the President of the Board of Trustees at Unity of Bloomington. Our parking lot is partially owned by us, and partially City property as the B-Line runs behind our building on S. Rogers & Gordon Pk. (We currently maintain the entire parking lot vis-a-vis snow removal etc.) Recent changes, especially in Switchyard Park, have precipitated a migration of unhoused persons south on the B-Line trail. The UoB parking lot has become a stop-over for derelict vehicles and we're experiencing a significant increase in loitering and trash. The Board of Trustees recognizes that this is an important ministry opportunity, and we are engaged in prayerful consideration of reasonable steps forward. In the meantime, we host a nursery school in our facility and safety is an ongoing concern. My current request is this: 1. Could we receive help from the City to secure a larger trash barrel than the small trail-sized container currently in place near our parking lot (and would it be up to us or the City to tend it)? 2. Could the City help by providing a cigarette butt receptacle for our parking lot? (My husband and I collected more than 100 cigarette butts from the Unity parking lot before services last Sunday) 3. I routinely walk along S. Highland Ave. just north of the Y and then around the Winslow Sports Complex trail. I've noticed a lot of poison ivy growning very close to the sidewalk and then along the trail on the west side (near Highland) near the batting cages. I hope someone will see to it that this is removed or killed so no pedestrians are at risk. Thanks

Large poison ivy is growing at the entrance to the rails to trails path. Specifically, it is on the fence on the East side/corner of the parking lot, along the sidewalk - growing out, towards the sidewalk. I know what it is (and to avoid it), but not everyone would. Could it be sprayed to kill it? (One time when I think the weed is worse than the poison needed to remove it!) Thank you.

Hello, I am writing to this email address since I've been told that trees between a sidewalk and the street are considered street trees, and are managed by the City Parks Urban Forestry Program. I last year bought a house at 3216 E Winston St.. At that time the two trees to the east of the house between the sidewalk and the street looked unwell, but I thought it might be because the summer before had been exceptionally dry, and I knew the house had been vacant (and so presumably not necessarily well cared for) for some time. However, it's now apparent that one is dead and the other is nearly so. Can you let me know if the city is responsible for these trees? These bricks have been loose and uneven for years. I tripped on them a few days ago, and snapped a pic to remind me to report this. Location: sidewalk along Morton east of Showers bldg, by first large rock sourh of bus shelter.

Sidewalk on Montclair along Southeast park, as well as the trail running through the park still haven't been cleared of ice and snow. All the surrounding property owners were able to clear their sidewalks in a timely manner. I believe the city is responsible for the sidewalk along the park.
