called into city hall - K.Cummings, AHA inputting this issue -- John stated that he has called several times regarding this issue - there are two storm drains, one directly in front of his residence and another that is across the street that are in need of repair. John advised that the grates are too low, causing them to consistently get debris on them, causing flooding.

Rick Alexander transferred her VM to me. She called yesterday because there is currently a lot of work being done at 1st and Morton and she's hoping the storm drainage issue can be addressed. There are two storm drains in the area but neither are in the lowest spots so every time it rains, they have huge water issues. She works in the bldg at 1st and Morton.

The stormwater grates at West Fourth and Fairview literally had small bushes growing in the sediment. I cleaned them again today-but why oh why can't these be part of regular maintenance? When they are blocked, which is most of the time, the water gets 6-8 inches deep at the alley near my house. I brought this to council last year when the city voted to raise fees and was promised by the director (Vic?) that this would be remedied. I have yet to see a clean up schedule or to see a worker ever clean these grates or clean the streets. I'm sick of it. There seems to be no dearth of resources for curbs and flower boxes and traffic restriction work. Why can't the city maintain the streets and storm sewers in a systematic fashion? What is the schedule for cleaning?

Today and always when there's been heavy rain over the last years, 1st Street floods in our stretch, because there's no drain in the block between Stull and Fess Ave. where we are. At our house, the water hits the curb of the alley in such a way that the entire grass patch and side way is flooded, making it dangerous to walk on the side way. I'm attaching a picture of now, when the rain has already become more steady. I can provide a number of short videos we've taken over the years to document the problem. Please, consider installing a drain or let us know what can be done about this. It is dangerous for us, our toddler son and our visitors. Thank you!

Hello, My home sits at the bottom of an incline where the water in the neighborhood drains onto our driveway and property. Every time it rains the water causes erosion on the property and flooding to our garage and yard. Not only is the un-directed water effecting us, but is also causing the road to erode where water is standing on the asphalt. As well as eroding neighbors propertys and driveway, which then end up in front of our home puddled in the street,(water,gravel,soil). A solution could be installing curbs and catchment drains in the surrounding area to better direct the water from causing more damage to ours and neighboring properties. Drainage channel near 10th and Fairview is clogged with debris from recent flooding events. It needs to be dug out to allow water to drain and avoid breeding mosquitoes. Location is halfway between Fairview and the path connecting Butler Park to the B line.
