I think it would be beneficial to have signs that say "Cross traffic does not stop" at S. Dunn and E. Smith and the intersections of Henderson with 1st, University, and 2nd. I have almost been hit over 15 times in the past 4 months. Southbound S. Dunn and Northbound Henderson do not have stop signs, but the other cross street drivers assume we do and barrel ahead into the intersection without second thought. Is there a way to add these safety/cautionary signs? I am an extremely defensive and vigilant driver, which is the only reason I haven't been hit yet, but I am extremely nervous every time I drive on these streets, and I imagine others are as well. Please help!

I believe that the street markings for the N. Pete Ellis Dr. and E. 10th St. stoplight should be changed. Often, drivers use the "turn right only" lane to go forward through the intersection because a car which intends to turn left has held up traffic. This can create a dangerous situation where cars disregard the street markings in order to get through the intersection in a timely manner. I suggest that the outside most lanes of E. 10th St. be marked as the straight and right turn lanes and the inside lanes become left turn-only lanes. Secondly, because of the amount of pedestrian traffic around Fountain Park (because of the Bus Stop) I suggest that there be Pedestrian crossing buttons installed at the intersection.

Need to do something so that traffic westbound on 10th does not get stuck by a vehicle trying to turn left onto Pete Ellis.

This intersection needs a left turn only lane for cars turning off of 10th St. North onto Range Road. Sometimes cars in the lane for going straight swerve into the right lane to get around cars waiting to turn left even though visibility for this is poor and could confuse drivers turning right onto 10th St. from Pete Ellis. Just park in the post office parking lot and observe this intersection around 5 - 6 pm on a weekday and you can see for yourself. A left turn lane would greatly reduce accidents at this intersection.

When heading N on Highland and turning L onto 3rd Street, it is extremely difficult to see around the TIS Bookstore. Cars with long noses practically have to inch out into traffic to see whether any vehicles are coming. (I suspect this may be partly responsible for the collision at the intersection I saw a few days ago.)
My suggestion for a solution is to install convex traffic mirrors to increase visibility around the corner. These are used to excellent effect in the many tight corners in Europe, where streets and buildings often existed long before modern traffic conditions.

To Whom it May Concern,
I am an IU Student living in Jackson Heights. I choose to take the bus 2-3 times a day to get to my classes, in an effort to be environmentally conscious. The nearest bus stop is on 17th street past the gas station. There isn't any crosswalk/crosswalk lights on any side of the corner I have indicated. This puts myself, as well as any other pedestrian, at risk of being seriously injured. I've been in Bloomington since August and have, thankfully, avoided getting into any incident. However, I have just heard from my roommate, that she almost got hit by a car, as the driver wasn't paying attention and it's tricky for a pedestrian to decide when to cross when there aren't any indications to do so. I am really hoping a solution can be reached. I'd also appreciate any feedback on any way I can assist to help avoid a tragic situation.
Thank you for your time,

wondering if you might consider bike lanes or a widened shoulder next time north Kinser Pike is repaved. It's a popular route to reach the Bottoms and as a driver and biker, I'd appreciate the added safety.

"Head start" for pedestrians. Use the NYC trick, give walkers a 7 second head start before turning the light green. This intersection, the one on the bypass and 10th, and the Kirkwood Walnut crosswalk are just 3 places drivers ignore pedestrians as they only look at cars so they can make right turns. Please. They're going to run us over. Look at Saturdays NYtimes.
