City needs to install a delineator along the dedicated bike lane that spans 3rd street between Emerson Ave & Indiana Ave. An extremely unsafe traffic pattern is forming where motorists are unsafely pulling into the bike lane hundreds of time a week, constantly causing near-misses and even some small accidents. This is a really bad accident waiting to happen.

Greetings. We need moving violation enforcement and an increase in people who can do traffic law enforcement. Can someone in BPD as well as OOTM please read this article and consider how the City of Bloomington may work to make their streets actually safe and civil... Please take note of the quote about their goal. I think Bloomington needs to make the goal of public safety a top and most important priority! This is what the city of New Orleans is doing to help their police department with their staff shortages. 'They will have duties such as monitoring phone and online reports, issuing traffic citations, surveying major events like Mardi Gras and the Essence Festival and even doing some investigative work. Civilians would additionally be dispatched to calls that may not require an officer, such as collecting preliminary evidence, securing loose pets and responding to forgery, certain medical episodes and some thefts, New Orleans Police Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said last Thursday. 'The goal of all of this is to make our officers feel safe so that they can make our citizens and visitors feel safe,' Ferguson said. 'This is also to reduce some of the workload currently placed on our patrol and district personnel. Please put a traffic circle at the intersection of N Smith Rd. and E 10th St. Waits can be interminable and with the hospital now on this side of town it’s getting worse. It looks to me like there is plenty of room for a circle.
Is there anyway the city can paint parking lines on 100 W. 8th street? Before the paved this road, there were lines and since they paved this I believe last year, the city has neglected to doing this causing vehicles at times to take up two spaces. This has been mainly an issue at night. Please look into this. Also, the blue curb for the handicap space is extremely faded and really needs to be repainted.
I live in Blue Ridge on the north side of town and cross the Dunn/45-46 intersection daily to get to work. This intersection not only has high traffic due to daily Bloomington traffic, but also has high traffic with visitors for game days and other IU events. This intersection needs to be reworked to help with traffic flow and safety. (1) Driving south through the intersection on Dunn there is only a green light (no green arrow or yellow yield arrow like other traffic signs around town.) People frequently turn left immediately on green without yielding, causing several near accidents (happened to me twice just this week.) (2) Going northbound on Dunn -- there are 3 lanes - 1 to turn left, 1 to go straight onto North Dunn, and 1 to turn right. Although there is a sign that says turn left, almost daily people are turning left from the "straight traffic" lane, again causing issues with traffic and safety. I believe there needs to be a sign that says "straight ahead only" -- similar to the signs on South Walnut near Kroger/Seminary Square. As someone who drives this intersection daily, I am always prepared for someone to incorrectly cross through these intersections, but for 90% of people who do not, especially people going to/from IU on visits and other events and/or are from out of town, this is extremely unsafe.
Just wanted to call attention to the traffic light at E 2nd and S. High Street. It seems that the South bound High St. Left Turn Arrow (to E. 2nd ) always turns green even with no cars over the sensor (or any cars at light South bound). One issue during morning school hours at Rogers Binford is that North Bound High St. traffic (at light) backs up to E. 1st street where there is a traffic officer supporting the children walking to school. We as a family travel North on High daily and any time of the day the South Bound High St. Left turn arrow always goes green with the South Bound light. Would it be possible to check to see if that intersection traffic light arrows are programed correctly? Thank you look forward to hearing back!
Please add more one way signs on W 3rd from Jackson to Walker. Too many people are using this as a two-way street.
I wanted to propose the addition of a pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection of N Fess Ave and E 10th St. I live in Collins, and when walking between Hillcrest and the general courtyard buildings there are no immediate crosswalks in the area. The addition of white lines, particularly on the west end of this intersection (where there is already a metal grate where the sidewalk meets the road) would be very helpful for residents of Collins and would make the area safer for pedestrians trying to cross the street.
Motorists speed down this section of road, often 20mph OVER the posted 25mph speed limit. Safety is a concern, for my child and for other pedestrians. A speed bump would fix this issue!
