The speed limit sign that was here had been missing for some time. For about a month, it was laying in the grass about half block north. Now it's gone.

A crosswalk is marked on the pavement here, yet no crosswalk signs are present on Third Street. I was told in December by a city employee that these signs would be installed in the next week, but the signs still are not present.

The alley section behind our business and that of the Von Lee Building on E. Kirkwood is in need of paving. The patching done a few weeks ago has loosened and many potholes remain. Can the city please budget this section of the alley to be re-paved as it is now a common traffic thoroughfare and in disrepair? Also, there is a Piazza truck driver who parks his truck daily along a stretch of this alley while eating his 2-3 hour lunch. He is not conducting business while parked there each weekday. There is a "no parking" sign adjacent to where he parks. He claims there is no where else he can park and eat his lunch...As Spring weather comes, this alley gets much mixed use traffic, and his truck is a barrier to the flow of traffic. I spoke with him today and he admitted that he just parks there to eat - he is not delivering to the Von Lee building. Parking fees?

2801-2999 South Allendale Drive

The intersection of Winslow Road and Allendale is unsafe. As a resident of Sherwood Oaks, weekly I witness people driving through the stop signs on Winslow Rd. or not obeying right of way. In addition, there is no safe way for pedestrians to cross Winslow from Allendale to the multi-use trail that is on the North side of Winslow (leading to the Winslow Sports Park and YMCA). This is a very wide intersection and it is not one that motorists easily see pedestrians because of the width. A flashing light, a pedestrian crossing sign, or pedestrian crossing painted stripes on the roadway would help. Sherwood Oaks and neighboring areas have many walkers who use the crossing and it is not safe to do so. In particular for children who cross the street to the park on foot or bike.

Hello. There is a battered, fallen-over road construction sign on the sidewalk on the north side of Third Street between College Avenue and Walnut Street. I believe this is leftover from the College Avenue road upgrade project that was recently completed south of Third Street. Can this sign be removed please? In its present condition it

The speed limit sign of 30 m/h on the side of Hillside going towards Highland, just around the corner from, High Street and Stier Park is now totally obscured by a blooming pear tree. Can you move the sign or remove the branches that hang in front of it?

I sent the attached e-mail to the Project Managers for the 494/169 interchange project, but it occurred to me I should send it to the City as well. Many of the traffic circles part of the project (specifically those in the southwest quadrant and possibly others) have earth "hills" in the circle centers which make it difficult to see vehicles already on the circle to which one must yield when entering a circle. I suggest the mounds be leveled and only low-growing landscaping planted in the circle centers to improve sight lines.

2712 S Banta AVE

Case Date:
5/23/2013

The two blocks of S. Banta Ave that connect Tapp Road to Ralston and West Graham have no sidewalks, and many children live in the vicinity (including my own). The Broadview Learning Center's playground a few blocks away is a major draw for the neighborhood children, both in houses and in apartment buildings up and down this road. However, the lack of traffic control on Ralston and the ability to cut up Banta Avenue from Tapp Road during times of the day when the Tapp/Rockport intersection becomes congested due to commuter and other traffic (especially those using it as a means to connect to 37), means that cars race up Banta to speed around the corner and shortcut to Rockport. Since the neighborhood children have no sidewalks here, or on Graham (which is a major route to the only park that is easily accessible), it is incredibly hazardous. If the city won't oversee the creation of sidewalks on these busy "shortcut" roads, could some signs and speed bumps be put in? Particularly on Banta, which is built on a hill up one side and down the other, irresponsible car traffic makes all the parents (and neighbors) frightened for our children. Additionally, the triangular corner of Rockport and Graham and Banta has no shoulder trimmed back from the large pine trees there, which not only makes it difficult to see around, but more hazardous for the many bus patrons that get off at the Countryview Apartments, and are forced to cut through the private property on the opposite side of the street, rather than risk being hit by a motorist that can't see them around that corner.
