Fraudulent business practices continuing to occur at Speedy Wrecker Services LLC, 3170 S. Walnut St., Bloominton, IN 47401. This business specializes in non consensual and predatory towing. Once the car is impounded, they only offer odd hours for pick up, demand cash only payments, and do not collect taxes. The price per tow is over twice the normal rate in town. My son was charged $240.00. He settled via small claims mediation. Two friends since that case have been charged $180.00 each for a tow that should cost $90.00. The Bloomington Police have been contacted on each incident but that doesnt seem to be enough for Speedy Wrecker Service to change their predatory business practices. Is this the type of business Bloomington wants to be known for? This company is a disgrace! I would like to see the Bloomington Parking Commission create some regulatory actions against predatory towing.

The workers are being illegally stripped of their earnings by the management. In an incident that occurred Saturday ( June 19th), I believe, a waitress had a large party of 15 guests walk out on her without paying the bill. The manager then made her pay their bill out of her own pocket which was hundreds of dollars. This is also not the first time I have heard of this restaurant doing such a thing. This is not only Illegal but extremely abhorrent behavior. I am emailing and contacting as many governmental authorities as I can so that something can be done about this. If you have any better leads on where I can talk to the right people about this abuse of power please let me know.

We are the landlord of this commercial building and have a shared alley way. There are two white trash bags leaning against our building (left by students across the alley most likely) - trash is strung out of it due to animals and there is some broken glass as well. I am writing to complain about being towed from Bedrak Cafe parking lot at 8:30p by Tow Time and being charged $215. This is an extortion rate. The Bedrak Cafe has signs posted but you cannot see them when it is dark. They are tiny and dark in color. We were not given warning that we would be towed and then to be charged such an exorbitant amount is unreasonable. My fiance met me and we had 2 other friends that parked there. We were gone from our cars less than 20 minutes and 3 of the 4 cars were gone and the 4th one was in the process of being towed. The towing company has to be lying in wait for anyone to park there and then stealing your car and charging you this astronomical price. He then basically threatened us stating if we did not pay him immediately that it would cost us $20-40 more and that we would have to make an appointment to get the cars back at their convenience. This is extortion, we felt intimidated, and backed into a corner. Then on top of this he tells us that he has a contract with the owner of Bedrak Cafe to keep the lot cleaned out of all cars except when they are open. So how much of a kick back is Bedrak getting from Tow Time. And where is Tow Time located. I could not find a Bloomington address for Tow Time. What is the city regulations on parking and fees for being towed? This makes the city of Bloomington look very bad. No one will want to go down town if you cannot park in a lot where the business is closed. This is outrageous!
