Traffic Signals
201 South Walnut Street
- Case Date:

left turn sig. from 4th st to college is not working
left turn sig. from 4th st to college is not working
The lights on 4th St and college/walnut are very out of sync. Once I can go west through walnut towards college, the light is already changing. I feel like this whole area had just recently become like this. 3rd Street is really bad to, going east.
Timing of the College/Walnut & 45/46 traffic signal is off. Commuting home from work 9/17 traveling west at 5:15, traffic was backed up past Dunn St. Commuting to work 9/18 traveling east at 8:15, traffic was backed up past Kinser Pk. I sat through three red lights before making it through the intersection. This is not typical for the intersection and is not an efficient flow of traffic.
The traffic lights at 46 & College and 46 & Kinser Pike have gone out of synch with each other in the past 2 weeks, causing traffic back ups each morning.
Stop sign here (South Renwick, heading east) is blocked from sight by the trees. Very hard to see until you are almost in the intersection with South Hawksmoore.
Walk light at 3rd & Franklin from north to south is not working properly. Walk light does not illuminate after pushing the button on north side of intersection. The "don't walk hand signal" is steady and never changes to the white "human" walk signal. The verbal cue "Please wait to cross" does engage. I cross the intersection every day and the walk light has not worked all week - June 5 thru June 8.
*********2ND REQUEST******** uReport City of Bloomington, Indiana – John Hamilton, Mayor Login Cases Locations Report a problem open #156479 Traffic Signals: Other: Why are so many traffic lights now running 24 hour cycles instead of the yellow flashing late at night? Particularly troublesome lights are on South Walnut by the Herald Times, Henderson and Hillside, Lincoln and 3rd, Washington and 3rd. This switch was made about three weeks ago and is becoming quite annoying. The traffic light at 10th and Union needs to have its sensors checked. Starting late last week, it stopped responding to the sensors in the road. It shows green for far too long on Union, which backs up traffic unnecessarily on 10th St. (This isn't due to increased cars on 10th St, but rather due to the light's short cycle.) At night, the light will run a full cycle even if there is no traffic and will not respond to cars idling over the road sensors. Thank you.
Traffic light at N. Union St. and E. 10th St. The light is green for N-S bound traffic on Union St. for much longer than traffic moving E-W on 10th. This is causing long and unnecessary backups on 10th St. This began a few months ago. Please look into adjusting the light timer.
The light at the intersection of Union and 10th has a turn arrow. Last summer the turn arrow stopped working. I assumed it was due to reduced traffic from fewer students. But it's approaching a year and the arrow still does not work. P.S. There are potholes in the left turn lane on Union, turning East onto 10th. They make that turn really rough.
