My street runs downhill from Dunn to Walnut. In our older neighborhood, there is no infrastructure to handle stormwater. So the drainage ditch in front of my house and 3 others is the only thing that keeps our street from being flooded completely in any significant rainfall. I maintain it by weeding and cleaning out leaves and litter, along with the culvert that goes under my driveway and can become totally blocked- despite the fact that the debris that blocks it runs down from every house uphill of me to Dunn St. I'm writing two request that this ditch be repaired, as it is full of holes and water is going under it, causing even faster deterioration. Although the ditch was installed by the prior owner and not by the city, it is doing the city's job here; it is handling stormwater and preventing street flooding. This ditch is a small and short-term patch on the major drainage issue in this neighborhood which needs to be addressed in a more comprehensive way soon. My basement, which never had more than a trickle of water for the 23 years I've lived here, regularly floods now. My uphill neighbors' eastern foundation wall collapsed in a rainstorm 2 years ago. Glendora runs like a river in any rainfall, and as you know, rainfalls are getting heavier and more frequent. I will take pictures to show that my ditch keeps one side dry so that the street doesn't flood all the way across. I would really appreciate some short-term help with patching and possibly putting a grate across the culvert, along with a response about a long-term solution. This is the second time this year that my house has been flooded because of the inadequate city storm water drainage at the corner of Overhill dr and East 8th Street. It happened on April 4th and on June 18th. I'm not sure if the city had someone come and cleaned up after storm on April 4th, but my handyman told me that he had to remove a bunch of rocks from the drainage. I really believe that the storm water drainage is too small. Even if we clean it up, it still doesn't function properly. The storm water from the city's drainage backed up to my driveway and flooded the entire basement floor. It has happened many times, but the problem is getting worse throughout the years. I had to spend thousands to remodel my house due to the flood damages.

The hill on East Moore's going up from Sare Rd to Andrew Circle becomes a full on river when it rains, and a bobsled track when that rain freezes. It's very dangerous.

There are multiple areas of stormwater runoff and pooling occurring on my property due to the development and ensuing increased runoff produced by the adjacent property at 910 N Madison St. My observations of increased water on my property come from regrading of the property to be higher than mine, a capped drain, building on the N-S alleyway that used to serve as a way for runoff to flow to the street, and redirection of water onto my properties via gutters, tubing, and installed drainage flows that direct onto my property on the north and northeast side of the 910 N Madison property. This has caused flooding in my basement, yard, and driveway that was not there prior to the redevelopment of this property and the vacation of the alley. I have more photos of where the stormwater drainage from this property is deliberately directed onto my properties, but am not able to upload them here due to the limit of one photo. All of lots surrounding this home are now on the market for development at an increased density. My concern is for my current situation and for the increased drainage issues that will come from further densification without mitigation to protect me and my surrounding neighbors. I would appreciate someone to come out to my property to see the current situation and drains installed by the City that are not functioning to protect my properties at 317 W 14th and 920 N Madison from damage by stormwater runoff.

There is no drainage for the alley between Fess and Henderson in the 800 block and it continues to flood and make the alley impassable. This has been ongoing for years. Neighbors back yards flood from the lack of proper drainage.

Ms Kim left a voice message this morning. I returned her call this afternoon and she explained she is concerned with the runoff in their back yard. Their neighbor put logs along their back yard and it pushes the runoff over into her back yard. She wants to know if they can do this. I told her this is probably an issue between the neighbors but I would be happy to come out and look at it.

We have a drainage pipe? That runs under our ground and out to 10th street. Us custodians try to keep the ditch clean across the yard, but the pipe is so clogged with sand and dirt we’re getting a deep pond after a rain. When the pond water goes over our hill it takes debris with it onto our sidewalk and sometimes to the city bus stop. Is this something you can help with? Thanks!

Have been dealing with water issue on Grant & Kirkwood sidewalk. It appears it’s coming from below ground and would like to meet on-site with someone from city utilities that can help resolve this issue. It’s particularly a problem when temps fall below freezing. Thank you.
