Mr Pollock called with a question about storm drainage on his property and erosion.
I have reported this multiple times in the past few years and never heard back. Please contact me asap
The drainage between 1406 and 1404 S. Nancy is extremely backed up with debris
There is a drain line that is broken that needs fixed. If you fill in the hole the pipe will get clogged if not repaired first.
There is a stormwater drainage ditch at the corner of 11th and Illinois that is filled with stagnant water. Not sure if it belongs to the city or C&S, but either way it is ideal breeding ground for mosquitoes. I can’t tell if it is tied into city stormwater drains and simply clogged, or if it was never connected at all. Would be great if someone could investigate and maybe do a mosquito larvae dip. Thanks!
Ms Adams left a voice message saying some work was done with the drainage ditches on her street this morning in the neighbor's ditch and also some asphalt paving was done right in front of her driveway and it's going to move a lot of water down her drive. She wants to get another drainage grate or a culvert or something at the corner of Pickwick. She said her property and the property next to her have spent thousands of dollars to manage the water that comes through their property and the city has been using their properties as drainage. The work they did on the street is going to put tons of water to the drain in front of their garage but it won't handle it all now. She is petitioning to see what they can do to get a storm grate put in.
A few years ago, Duke Energy installed this abomination of a culvert behind my back yard, adjacent to Rogers Road. They also installed two embarrassingly undersized culverts in the dry stream bed immediately south of this culvert further into my property. This was all done to get a truck back to a utility pole. After the two culverts clogged routinely, flooded the property, and were shown to be entirely insufficient, I complained and they removed the double culvert. I complained at the time about this awful eyesore of a culvert adjacent to the road, but they did nothing. The culvert served no purpose but to allow a vehicle onto the property without having to traverse a small dry stream bed. With the other culverts now removed (which were used to traverse the next dry stream), there is no reason for any vehicle exit Rogers Road at this location. Please, for the sake of our city’s beauty and the beauty of my back yard, have someone remove this grossly-too-long, rusted, paint-peeling culvert that serves no purpose. I hope all of the gravel can be removed as well, but I would be overjoyed with the sole removal of the pipe. Many many thanks for your consideration! The stormwater drainage ditch (also known as "Sheridan Creek") near the intersection of Sheridan and Karen continues to erode with chunks of asphalt going into stormwater drains. This was looked at a couple of years ago with a decision of "careful watching." It seems like it is now time to re-pave the culvert or put in a drainage pipe, consistent with what is at both ends of this ditch.
She called Roy Aten first and he forwarded it to me. She is concerned about water ponding in her drive and out into the street since the City put the curb in on Winfield.
Storm water drain is clogged causing large “pond” of water on the north side of Atwater and potentially a storm runoff problem for property owners that could lead to flooding basements.
