I am writing to report the severe noise disruptions from the IU Stadium that continued until nearly 2:00 AM. Even with our doors and windows completely shut and locked, the heavy, thumping bass and stadium drums were loud enough to vibrate homes across a 2-mile radius from the stadium. When residents call to report this, the response from city channels is a dismissive, "Well, you know there's a football game tonight." This classic town versus gown attitude suggests that year-round residents should just accept this disruption as the new normal.While I understand the economic value of football to our local commerce, the blame for this issue lies with the late-night television scheduling and a major shift in stadium audio technology. These high-powered subwoofer systems did not exist when many permanent residents bought their homes, started families, or moved to Bloomington. This is not the standard college town noise of the past; it is a new level of low-frequency disruption deep into the night that penetrates right through our walls.There is a clear double standard here. Local workers, parents, and neighbors who deal with sleep deprivation or stadium-induced migraines do not get a pass from their employers the next morning just because a television network wanted a primetime slot. I want to ask how powerless the city truly is in this situation. Is there still respect for the neighbors who keep Bloomington running year-round but have no affiliation with the university? I urge the city administration to enforce our local noise protections and work with the university to scale back the late-night bass.
I am writing to report a systemic reliability issue with Bloomington Transit. The bus on Route 2 (West 11th St) is consistently running late. Because of these daily delays, I am unable to make my connecting transfer at the Downtown Transit Center.Missing this transfer causes a severe domino effect. It makes me significantly late for work, creates ongoing conflicts with my employer, and directly jeopardizes my current and future employment. When I called Bloomington Transit to report this, the representative inappropriately suggested I "take an earlier bus" or "take an Uber." Route 2 already runs on a limited schedule, and relying on expensive rideshare services is financially unsustainable. It completely defeats the purpose of public infrastructure. I am requesting that the Operations Manager or Route Scheduler investigate the Route 2 timeline. The schedule needs to be adjusted so that riders can reliably make their connections at the Transit Center without being stranded.Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Whether it is a lack of security, conflicting facility uses, gaps in weekend/night service, or inefficient route layouts, the city's response is always to shift the burden, safety risks, and financial costs onto the citizen. I need Bloomington Transit and city oversight to address these operational bottlenecks and provide a reliable, safe, and direct service that actually supports working-class residents.

These two signs, where the trail crosses West Third, make no sense. Why is one sign telling pedestrians the sidewalk at College (presumably) is blocked and another one is telling them how to get to College? And if the sidewalk is blocked (as I believe it still is), why is there no sign telling people how to get to an accessible path, as required by the ADA? Please address this common problem. Thanks.
This on West Third facing east, approaching the overpass going up the trail. The sign does not leave enough space for people with disabilities to pass according to the ADA. I see this often with construction signs, which are quite common this summer. Please instruct your employees and contractors to comply with the ADA. Thanks.
It is so difficult to get into the doorway at the lower level entrance to Fountain Square on S Walnut St (the closest entrance to Brightside Cafe) in a wheelchair. The metal transition strip looks bent and doesn't span the full height of the step, so it's not fully wheelchair accessible. Very hard to enter without a push-to-open button in a wheelchair. Still very difficult even if someone holds the door for me, because of the height of the transition. Let me know if you'd like me to show Michael Shermis in-person. Thank you.
Steel plate over man-hole drain has been dislodged and is a hazard to pedestrians using that sidewalk. There are actually two steel plates in the same area. Too heavy for me to lift and fix.
