Line of Sight

Case Date:
5/12/2026

There is a half-fallen-down branch in the tree plot in front of 212 E. 2nd Street. The leafy branches of that still-connected branch make it hard for cars to have good visibility when making left-hand turns from S. Lincoln onto 2nd Street. That branch needs to be removed before there is an accident.

Potholes, Other Street Repair

Case Date:
5/12/2026

Cheyenne Bowlen recently indicated the following request is not a city issue. Her assessment is incorrect. East Winslow Farm Drive IS a city street. The pothole in question has previously been repaired by the city. She may have assumed that the address I provided was on the "semi-circle drive" that extends off the main road. The pot-hole is located on the CITY street side. Please have someone do an on-site visit if you are unable to determine the location of the very seriously deep pot-hole. We would appreciate your immediate attention to this matter. The following is a record of our correspondence. I initially wrote: "There is a significant pot hole at the end of the driveway at 521 E Winslow Farm Dr. The area in question is an "eyebrow" and several of us need to turn unto E Winslow Farm Drive from this semi-circle. The hole is rather large and deep and it has become a serious problem to avoid. The hole is located on the city street of E Winslow Frm Drive. Thank you for your attention to this matter." The response indicates it was "Assigned to Cheyenne Bowlen" with her response as follows: Most tickets of this type should be closed within 7 days, although some cases may be longer. 0 days have already passed. History 4/29/2026 12:04:41 Closed by Cheyenne Bowlen Sandy, The City of Bloomington does not maintain these areas. This would be the responsibility of the HOA. I’m writing to express concern about the current condition of the Twin Lakes Recreation Center. As a member for several years who regularly participates in several of the free classes offered, I’ve seen the facility over time and feel it’s important to share these concerns. While the Center has great potential, several ongoing issues are significantly impacting the overall experience. First, the lack of music in the workout areas makes the environment feel uninviting and low-energy. Music is a basic expectation in most fitness spaces and plays an important role in motivation. Additionally, much of the equipment appears outdated and in need of replacement or maintenance. This not only affects usability but can also raise safety concerns. Along those same lines, the furniture throughout the facility is worn and visibly old, which contributes to an overall impression that the space is not being adequately maintained. There are also operational issues that need attention. Broken clocks throughout the facility make it difficult for folks to manage their time effectively during workouts or classes. On top of that, the limited class availability does not meet the community's needs, especially for those who rely on structured fitness options. It would be nice to have multiple time slots for the HIIT and Bootcamp classes! Taken together, these issues create an experience that falls short of what a community recreation facility should provide. I hope these concerns are taken seriously and that improvements can be made to better serve the community. Thank you.

Street Trees

Case Date:
4/24/2026

I have two requests: 1. Street trees need to be trimmed up. The new Post Office vehicles are taller and hitting lower tree branch. Other delivery trucks have the same trouble. If this is not a City’s issue please contact the Renwick HOA. My address is 1891 S Renwick Blvd 2. There is a water grate at my corner (Renwick and Seminary) where a tree is trying to grow. I,have been able to trim below, the grate in past years but unable to this year. I tried spraying with vinegar but no luck. Can someone lift the grate and remove? Many thanks. MVS
