The intersection at W Isaac Drive and S Westplex Ave is now unmarked for traffic northbound and southbound on S Westplex Ave. Now that S Westplex is open from Third S to the south, northbound and southbound traffic has increased and moving fast for the neighborhood. Thank you for your attention.
Adams bridge apparently seems to be getting hit by too big trucks regularly. Having spoken to folks near by, it seems like while there are markings available, they are not sufficent to prevent accidents. Could folks look into improving the marking in the area?
Dunstan and Allendale Dr. is a city and MCCSC bus stop, both on the NW corner and SE corner of this 4 way stop. This is the only 4 way stop on Allendale. Vehicles are constantly ignoring the traffic sign. Consideration to make this a proper crosswalk with crosswalk lines, or a bus stop sign, or flashing stop sign is being requested. I appreciate that a traffic study is being done on Allendale to show increased speeds and traffic on this road. THe safety of our kids, pedestrians, and bike riders is what is of major concern.
I am requesting speed bumps for Covenanter Drive, between College Mall Road and Clarizz Blvd. This is residential area with two large apartment complexes. It's also a heavily traveled road for buses, bikes and vehicles, as well, as pedestrians. Many use it as a way to cut through the area or to reach nearby apartment complexes, the mall, the large Kroger, or medical offices. Speeding is a concern. Line of sight can also be issue with two bus stops, curbside parking, the road's curve and change in elevation. I think speed bumps would help the issue, just like it has done on Covenanter Drive, going west from College Mall to High Street.
The intersection of South walnut/South walnut street pike and winslow is a two way stop when it absolutely needs to be a four way or have a light. During heavy traffic periods in the evening the intersection is impossible to cross or navigate and is extremely unsafe. Please do something about this awful intersection.
With the closure of Walnut Street Pike the amount of traffic (and speeders) going down Jaime Ln/Heather Dr as an unlisted detour is making the neighborhood less safe. Can the city please install temporary speed bumps?
I was wondering if there could be signage added on W. 3rd Street to encourage people to use the "zipper" merge when traveling westbound towards HWY 37 during this construction? When I try to travel home each day, traffic is backed up from the highway to Liberty Drive, with all cars in the right lane, due to signs warning of the left lane being closed ahead (at the intersection of Fairfield Dr. and Highway 37). People are trying to be courteous, but they are actually slowing down traffic by doing this. I have seen a sign before that said "Use both lanes during backup" - could that be a possibility? I live on Fairfield Dr., so everyday is tough and people seem to be making poorer choices each day because of the traffic. Thank you for your time.
Good afternoon. I live at 415 W. Graham Drive on the south side of Bloomington. I am writing in hopes of having a two- way stop become a four-way stop at the cross roads of Graham and Madison streets (and possible speed bumps put in). I have noticed (a lot) of drivers who turn on to Graham accelerate to a high speed because the west/ east of Graham does not have to stop at the intersection where Madison crosses (north to south). I cannot tell you how many times I have heard breaks squeal because the driver at the stop sign does not realize that cross traffic does not stop. Graham has a very high volume of foot traffic whether it be pedestrians walking to the bline, or their pets, or children walking home from the school bus. This makes for a very dangerous situation. I realize this is not a residential neighborhood- it's more of a city street, but I am concerned for everyone's well being and I believe making that a four-way stop would aide in motorists to slow down and be more aware of their surroundings. The barricades set up on Rockport Road at the intersection of Roger's Street and Rockport Road are creating a dangerous situation. Specifically, the barricade in the lane for Rockport approaching Rogers requires traffic to drive in to oncoming traffic. This particular barricade doesn't seem to serve any purpose, as it is only visible to traffic traveling on Rockport towards Rogers street, the opposite direction of the Tapp/Rockport intersection.
I was traveling east on 10th St. and got into the right-hand turn lane (with turn signal on) to turn right/south on Smith Road. As I turned right, a car facing north on Smith Road turned left to head west on 10th St. and did not see an oncoming car and the eastbound car on 10th street had to brake quickly to avoid an accident...stopping within a few feet of the turning car. With the new traffic light at the Post Office intersection on 10th st, GPS is routing more people east/west on 10th street to/from Smith Rd and more locals are also using this route. This is turning an already dangerous intersection more dangerous. Turning left off smith onto 10th street requires timing to avoid a car coming east around the curve on east 10th street...and the same for turning left onto Smith off 10th street. Please consider a stop light at this intersection. Thank You.
