Bryan Park parking lots on Henderson Street. The striping on these lots [especially the south lot] is nearly invisible. People are plopping their cars haphazardly and blocking the traffic pattern. Pleas re-stripe these lots. Also, it might be helpful if there were signs warning parents not let their small children wander around the parking lots. This kids are very hard to see when backing out of a parking spot especially when driving a SUV. Thanks

Ten days ago someone discarded two couches in the 300 block of S. Dunn St. on property maintained by the City of Bloomington. This is right by the off ramp from Atwater to S. Dunn St. I have seen a worker with a yellow, reflective Street Department vest mowing this property so I don't know who should take care of the disposal of the couches and cushions scattered across the lawn. Hi Mayor Hamilton and the city of Bloomington, I am contacting you and your office regarding the problem with the deer in our neighborhood. Once again, the deer are a problem for us and they are outright dangerous. I am not sure what the city is planning on doing with the problem, but I almost feel like I want to hire a sniper (and I am an animal lover) to get them off of our property or now purchase a BB gun. I am not a violent person, but I am at my wits end regarding this issue. Will the city only do something once a deer kills a child? I have heard of stories of dogs being killed by deer as well as homes being trashed by deer who have somehow gotten into somebody's home. The latest is that my wife got a broken ankle because of a deer and it required a trip to the ER at Bloomington hospital along with missed work for both of us. Luckily we have health insurance, but for those who don't...it is a very expensive endeavor that could have been avoided if the city would do something to cull these animals. Lately we have seen a herd of 8 deer roaming around Somax. I would like your opinion on how you plan to fix this problem because I do see this as a problem in our city and especially our neighborhood. Also, I heard that the city has a 2 million dollar surplus this year and wondered if that meant we would finally get the sidewalk and repair of the dangerous culvert that has been promised to the former owners of our house as well as to us. Our taxes go up every year (Judy Sharp just assessed another increas of $50,000 to our home value which raised our taxes again quite drastically). We can't seem to ever get a break from her with her assessments every year and it is quite frustrating. Every year we pay more and more taxes and get absolutely nothing for it. There are still no crosswalks across East Third at Third and Jordan. I was told last August that they would be installed (uReport case #160616). I learned that a friend has also reported this a couple of times over the past two years and been told that they would be installed. I'm beginning to doubt the city's sincerity on this matter.
Hi Virgil, I wanted to follow up with an email you forwarded to yourself today. The issue wasn't just a slight sprained ankle. Robin BROKE her ankle which required 2 weeks of a cast and 2-3 months of an air cast. We had to cancel a prepaid trip to CA because of this incident with a deer that would not have been the case if there were no aggressive deer in Bloomington. I know this might seem like a slight case to you, but it is huge for us. Once again, we have health insurance, but if we didn't...it would have been a huge Emergency Room expense, Orthopedic doctor expense x 3 and physical therapy. Missed time from work, etc. This isn't just a slight matter and I am sure if it had happened to someone else in the city it might have been looked at a little more seriously. The owners before us had been fighting the deer for years before they sold the house to us and now we are fighting the deer issue. Once again, will it take a death of a child (which I am sure will happen) before the city will do something about the urban deer problem? We have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars trying to have a decent garden and fighting these deer and every year their population keeps growing and doing more havoc to the city of Bloomington's resident's gardens as well as the danger they cause and nothing gets done about it.
I would like to politely request that that HVAC in the skywalk from the 4th Street parking garage to Fountain Square Mall be repaired. It is fast becoming a tropical sauna experience to walk through there. Thank you, Nels Boerner
