Heading west has one going up a steep hill, so sometimes I'm only going 8-10mph. Routinely do drivers pass me on my bike at dangerously close range. They also have on multiple occasions threatened me, verbally harassed me, and driven recklessly on this stretch. Street space is limited, so I would suggest yellow flex posts in the middle of the street to prevent reckless passing and so bikes can take the lane.

The 3rd street bicycle lane adjacent to the IU campus has been massively improved with the newly installed barriers! This section of the commute takes me 3 fewer minutes to bicycle on now that drivers don't block the bicycle lane. Biking in this lane feels so much safer and more comfortable with the barriers up, especially since considering drivers tend to go pretty fast on this road. Also, the barriers don't look like an eyesore at all, which is something I previously read that IU officials were concerned about. The barriers blend into the background enough to not be garish, but they are still clearly visible to drivers and cyclists. Honestly they're pretty stylish for bicycle lane barriers. As a bicycle commuter, even small-scale projects like this make me feel cared about by the city. It makes me glad to be a Bloomingtonian! Laissez le B-Town rouler!

People are confused with current Greenway project. Eliminate the stop signs. That is the whole point, to create a fluid prioritized bike/ped east-west pathway where folk don't have to constantly stop and yield to oncoming traffic.

In the Westpointe subdivision, the sidewalk on the East side of Larkspur has never been completed.
Also the sidewalk on the East side of Adams has not been completed to connect to the walk near the Youth Services building. When can we expect to have completed sidewalks in our neighborhood. We’ve been here 30 years and they’ve never been finished. Thank you?

No sidewalk available when turning left onto 10th Street off of N. Smith Road. I often come close to getting hit by cars when walking a short-section on this part of 10th Street that has no sidewalk on either side. As a disabled person, I find this even more frustrating. Please consider installing sidewalk on the South-side of 10th Street on this section (on the back-side of the self storage facility on N. Smith Road, that may vbe seen from 10th Street). Thank you.

Hi Nick. First of all, thanks for submitting this uReport. The more folks that say something about it, the better. Second, I know this person and his mother is actually the chair of the Council for Community Accessibility. While neither have directly complained about this issue it has been on our radar as other people have seen him try to navigate that stretch of Smith Road. So I went out and did a full survey from 3rd to 10th Streets and reported every issue along that route. Then I participated in a discussion about it with the Engineering and Planning. It's not so easy to address this one because it's very narrow and can't be widened. It would also be fairly costly to do the whole route. But we have placed it on the sidewalk priority list that was submitted to Planning departments for their next round of sidewalk construction. We won't know how that very limited budget gets spent for a while, but sure hope it includes addressing this one. So that's where we stand on it. Fingers are crossed! It's folks like you who call this out that might make it happen sooner versus later. So thank you! Michael (staff liaison to the Council for Community Accessibility)
